A few months ago, news dropped about the new Final Fantasy XIV expansion titled Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood. The first of two new jobs was revealed to be that of the Red Mage. We now have information about the second new job: The Samurai.
The new Samurai class is damaged-based, so players who enjoy being in the thick of battle will get a kick out of this one. Samurai will have a starting level of 50 with no base class. Best of all, they look badass! At last, my dream come true of being a sword-wielding, bad guy chopping Samurai. Check out the trailer below and see for yourself.
The trailer starts off the same as the original debut trailer, with the Red Mage fighting mountainside. After that, we head over to the continent of Othard, where we find the Samurai wrecking shop (literally). The player hub for this continent will be the port town of Kugane. There are also be new dungeons to explore in new areas Yanaxia and The Azim Steppe. Also, to anyone who enjoyed Blitzball in FFX, the team is developing a version of the game for FFXIV. Finally we get a chance to have real solid Blitzball game. I’m looking forward to that.
Final Fantasy IV: Stormblood releases June 20th, 2017 for PS4 and PC.
