Let me recap this for you a bit if you haven’t been following along. Allegations asserted that Smallville star Allison Mack may have taken part in a sex trafficking scheme with what can best be described as a cult group. NXIVM, as they were called, did some pretty damn horrible things to women over the years. They allegedly branded, brainwashed, and forced women to partake in sex acts. If you would like to read in a lot more detail, you can do so here.

‘Smallville’

It has to be talked about. Another Smallville star reportedly actually introduced Mack to the group. Kristin Kreuk, Mack’s co-star and mainstay for almost the entire 10 years, introduced her to NXIVM. It must be noted, Kreuk has not been charged with anything. She has also come out on her Twitter account to refute any knowledge of any such actions taking place while she was in the group. You can read more about Kreuk’s non-involvement and another member of the cult coming forward to defend her here.

Arrest

On April 20, 2018, the New York Department of Justice issued a press release announcing the arrest of Allison Mack, along with NXIVM founder Keith Raniere. According to their post, Mack was indicted for “Sex Trafficking and Forced Labor Conspiracy”. Richard P. Donoghue, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, and William F. Sweeney, Jr., Assistant Director-in-Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation, New York Field Office (FBI), announced the charges:

“As alleged in the indictment, Allison Mack recruited women to join what was purported to be a female mentorship group that was, in fact, created and led by Keith Raniere,” stated United States Attorney Donoghue.  “The victims were then exploited, both sexually and for their labor, to the defendants’ benefit.  This Office and our law enforcement partners are committed to prosecuting  predators who victimize others through sex trafficking and forced labor.

Is Allison Mack Guilty?

When I first heard about Mack being involved, I was honestly in disbelief. Fast forward a few months and it seems like there was truth to the horrible story that first surfaced. After all, she did get arrested. What do you think about the whole situation? Do you think Mack as involved as has been alleged? Let us know in the comments!
