The Teaser Trailer for Solo is Finally Here!

written by Jordan Cobb February 5, 2018

Everyone’s favorite lovable rogue from a galaxy far, far away Han Solo will get his own time on the big screen with the upcoming release of Solo: A Star Wars Story. The teaser trailer just came out and here’s your first look at it.

Now whenever one brings up Solo, one often things back to the troubled production of the movie itself when original directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were fired from the film over “creative differences” and Ron Howard was brought in to finish filming the movie. All three are credited as directors so it’ll be interesting to see how the film gels when it comes out this upcoming Memorial Day weekend.

Now as for the trailer itself, pretty good. Alden Ehrenreich looks the part and certainly is channeling the cynical charm and wit that Harrison Ford made memorable back in 1977. He was actually my personal pick when prospects were announced and I’m glad he got it. Seriously, if you already haven’t seen Hail, Caesar! you need to fix that right after reading this!

Of course, Donald Glover looks perfect as Lando Calrissian and he most certainly knock it out of the park, he is a phenomenal talent! Also good to see is an actual peek at who Emilia Clarke will play. Her role was so shrouded in secrecy, leading many to believe she actually might be a previously established character, but it doesn’t seem like that is the case here, but still, Game of Thrones┬áis ending soon, she’s gotta spread those wings! I’ll be curious as it seems like she’s most likely Solo’s best friend. The cast does look great with the likes of Woody Harrelson, Thandie Newton, and Paul Bettany among them.

This being the second standalone anthology film for Star Wars, it’ll be interesting to see how it stacks up with Rogue One and what else we might see in the universe.

What did you think of the trailer? Are you excited about it? Going opening day? Let us know in the comments!
