Sony to Launch Playstation Vue, a Rival for Cable Services

Sony Playstation has plans to unleash Playstation Vue that will rival cable subscriptions. Playstation Vue will start with 75 channels that will air TV shows and movies from major networks and local stations.

According to CNET, It will initially start with:

CBS, Fox, NBCUniversal, Discovery Communications, Scripps Networks and Viacom. The 75 channels will include paid-TV such as Animal Planet, National Geographic, Oxygen, Sprout, Syfy, HGTV, Food Network, Travel Channel, Comedy Central, MTV and Nickelodeon.

The service will start as an invite-only beta in November for Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 owners. Then it will roll-out on other platforms including Sony and non-Sony devices in 2015. No pricing has been established yet but Sony plans to reveal more next year,
