Drones were originally seen by many as just a passing fad. The same could be said for the recent renaissance of the superhero movie genre brought on by Marvel and DC. I guess it’s fitting that Spidey is seen utilizing a drone in the latest Spider-Man: Homecoming teaser.
I guess you could thank Tony Stark for Peter Parker’s new gadgets. It seems like everyone’s favourite webslinger is benefitting nicely from his new sponsor. The drone can be seen disengaging from Spidey’s symbol on his chest, which even surprised him. We then see a glimpse of an aerial battle involving an airplane, probably against Michael Keaton’s Vulture.
Drones are everywhere lately. Amazon is doing its thing, dropping packages off in your backyard with Prime Air. Mail delivered by drones began testing in France last year. Geeks, casuals, and vape-bros alike are flying DJI Phantoms at your local park as we speak. Now, Falcon isn’t the only Avenger utilizing a drone built by Stark Industries. Do you remember Sam Wilson flying Redwing in the beginning of Captain America: Civil War?
The teaser is a little ad for the newest trailer for Sony’s latest reboot of the franchise. A trailer for a trailer? I guess it makes sense. Keep it locked to Don’t Hate the Geek for the new trailer tomorrow!
Starring Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Marisa Tomei, and Robert Downey Jr., the film is due to be released on July 7, 2017. After scrapping the last reboot starring Andrew Garfield, The Amazing Spider-Man, Sony decided to play nice with Marvel Studios for this effort. They lent their character for Civil War, and Tony Stark will be featured in Homecoming in return.
Will you be seeing it in theaters? Do you think this will be a return to form for the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man?
