My thoughts, not an official announcement….but there should be one!

Spider-Man is key to Civil War

Spider-Man is key to Civil War

With the announcements made just a few days ago about the Sony Studio hacks and leaks with the apparent reveal that Marvel and Sony have talked about sharing Spider-Man, I was not a bit shocked when this was blasted all over the Internet. This is something I had already heard months ago! I don’t know how people forgot so soon how Sony made the first move by dropping a hint that they wouldn’t mind working with Marvel in some capacity. There was also a subsequent reply from Marvel Studios that they too would entertain such a notion and those rumored talks took place┬áback in October!!

These are the exact same talks that news outlets seem to be drooling over lately with much fan fare. Well here’s what I think, Marvel and Sony ALREADY have a deal intended for our favorite wall crawler! I strongly believe that Spider-Man has been given on loan to Marvel for some sort of under the table deal. What makes me feel so strongly about such a crazy idea? In my eyes Marvel would NEVER have made publicly (which people don’t realize was just shortly after the first rumored talks took place) in such grandiose style the announcements of Captain America 3: Marvel Civil War or Avengers 2 & the Infinity War! Two huge stories very important to the Marvel lore and movie that cannot be made without a Spider-Man being in all these storylines. Really it only makes good businesses sense, Sony keeps Spider-Man and keeps making mediocre comic book movies and Marvel gets to borrow Spider-Man to make spectacular movies with him!!

In these “Sony Studio leaks” it was also reviled that Sony has absolutely NO plans on loosening the reigns on their tight grip to the Spider-Man licenses and all its attached properties. Sony was claimed to boldly say in a company memo that they feel very strongly about the future of Spider-Man at the company. This comes still after multiple comic book news blogs are claiming Sony is in a state of flux and reeling from the disaster (in bloggers words) that was Amazing Spider-Man 2. The losses that ASM2 took of over $80 million dollars from the previous movie would sting any movie studio from wanting to continue a franchise.

Bloggers also say the delay of Spider-Man 3 is just a sign that Sony is in trouble and online fans and news outlets are already canning the “Carnage / Venom” movie that was also announced. So who is to be believed, the harsh critics who want nothing but Sony to fail so Marvel can retain rights to their precious Spider-Man or do you trust the “inside” info from hackers with emails from “leaked files” of CEO’s and company Presidents?

We come to today and the news of Marvel and Sony rumors is finally reaching the masses but really it’s nothing but old news. What people should be talking about is Spider-Man is pretty much a GIVEN to be INCLUDED in any Marvel Studios movie that has anything to do with Thanos Infinity War and all things concerned for Marvel’s Civil War! I am confidant to call it now folks but that is my speculation not a confirmed fact. What is confirmed is Marvel and Sony have talked about Spider-Man that’s no longer a secret. What is also confirmed is there are some major Marvel movies that will be coming out and that have a strong Spider-Man presence in them! I will stake my reputation on it and I won’t be a bit shocked when it does come to light.

What does this mean for other projects as well like the Avengers movies? We can only hope to see Spidey join the ranks of the Avengers just like in the comic books but there will be one more key factor in play there. Marvel would also need to get the rights loaned to them for Wolverine! Once a deal can be worked out to get both Wolverine and Spider-Man then we can start dreaming of The New Avengers…..but till then be happy with knowing so, something big should be heading our way already!
