Stan Lee’s Last Comic Con Run

written by Leda "Ancient Hero" N. May 20, 2016

Marvel today wouldn’t be here without the amazing, fantastic, incredible, Stan Lee! Stan Lee was in the Army during WWII as a repairman who doodled his cartoons between shifts and he got his writing start making obituaries. Then he began to give us so many loveable characters in Marvel, such as the X-Men, Captain America, Iron Man, Spiderman, the Fantastic Four, and many more. He has been around the world just to see his fans and say his catchphrase “Excelsior!”

However, Stan Lee has said this is his last year doing Comic Cons. There are health concerns, and he is getting up in age, so flying has become an issue. Stan Lee is still keeping a jubilant attitude about all of this and in fact when people pointed out that he’s still chipper for his age Stan replied: “Well, I can’t run the marathon and win the way I used to.” Stan Lee is still a smart aleck even in his old age.

“It’s so pleasant to go somewhere where people like you and want to hear what you have to say. It’s very flattering. But I’m 93 years old. I don’t know how much longer I’ll be able to do it.”–Stan Lee

We don’t know if this means the end of Stan’s rants on YouTube or if he will never make an appearance in another Marvel Movie. However, we know that this great man still has many years left in him.

We do know Stan Lee has a list of Comic Cons he will be attending this year, with nine scheduled stops left this year including Dallas Comic Con, Denver Comic Con, San Diego Comic Con, and New York Comic Con.  Would you want to meet Stan Lee on his last trip through American Comic Cons? Let us know in the comments! Excelsior!
