It is no secret that Star Wars: The Force Awakens has taken the merchandising world by storm with figures, clothing, and props. It seems to be a good time to be a Star Wars fan and it’s about to get even better.
Disney and Lucasfilm have officially launched their Star Wars Collectibles: Ultimate Studio Edition and the quality promises nothing short of excellence. Showcasing popular items from the latest episode in the franchise such as the bloody storm trooper helmet, an X-wing helmet, Rey’s lightsaber hilt, and many more! You can even pull a Kylo Ren and keep a melted Darth Vader mask to show your dark and broody side.
This epic line is the product of outstanding craftmanship by the artists at the Propshop in England’s Pinewood Studios. To give these props their authenticity, the studio utilizes digital data from the film while pairing that with the technology now available in the form of 3D printing. CEO of Propshop James Enright had this to say:
“Designed, made and finished by the hands of specialist motion-picture prop makers and artists, we’ve worked extremely hard to create something that we know would make fans and filmmakers proud.”
There is a catch to these amazing pieces and that is the price point for them is only considered easily affordable to those in a galaxy far, far away. From Vader’s burnt headpiece to Kylo Ren’s crossguard lightsaber hilt, the price range fluctuates between $1,250 all the way up to $3,500.
You can see the full list here on their website – it features videos on the different processes of creating these beautiful pieces as well as linking how to purchase them for yourself!
