Comic Book Fix: Comic-Con 2012 Recap
Last Updated on Wednesday, 18 July 2012 02:35 Written by david golbitz Wednesday, 18 July 2012 02:35
And like that … it’s gone. The pop culture whirlwind that is San Diego Comic-Con is now in the wind, and everyone can catch their breath. After four days of nonstop press releases and panel announcements, the comic book industry is taking a collective sigh this week as it recovers from what many have affectionately dubbed “Nerd Prom.” And while the industry recuperates, that gives us plenty of time to sift through all the tweets and RSS feeds to find the truly big news of the weekend.
While a lot of attention is heaped on the various movie panels (Guardians of the Galaxy! The Winter Soldier!), I’m going to stick to comic book news in this post. Movies might make more money, but the real innovation these days is being done at your local comic book shop. So read on for what I think were some of the biggest announcements of this year’s Comic-Con.

2012- The Year of the Shooter? Let’s hope not!
Last Updated on Thursday, 3 May 2012 02:21 Written by JCWaitWat Thursday, 3 May 2012 07:00
This year is shaping up to be a great one for video games. Mass Effect 3 blew everyone away (despite its ending) and it seems everyone else has been left dead in the water. But what does the rest of this year hold? It would seem a lot of dead terrorists. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier has slowly but steadily been gaining people’s attention with its futuristic technology and strong emphasis on squad work. It’s due to be released on the 15th June. Another contender is the new Medal of Honor game War Fighter which follows an over used story line of terrorists versus America. And of course we have Black Ops II which was announced on 1st May
Black Ops II looks like a fresh re imagining of the Call of Duty franchise, set in a future full of robotic weapons of destruction and unmanned armies. However it does not take a genius to realise that Black Ops II is not a graphically stunning game, the global product manager at EA tweeted ”Poor #blackops2 you look tired, you should take a year off and rest.”. Another rusty looking shooter coming out this year is Spec Ops: The Line. Spec Ops the what? I hear you say. This is another shooter, although with an interesting twist, but looks rather unremarkable.

Official: One Stooge Casting Down, 2 To Go….
Last Updated on Wednesday, 30 March 2011 07:03 Written by PieceOfSith Wednesday, 30 March 2011 06:00
When you think of a comedy team, who do you think of? When you hear that question, you might think of Chris Farley and David Spade, Abbot and Costello (for you old folks) or Rain Wilson and Steve Carell. What I think of is a group out of the black and white era of TV. That group is the Three Stooges. Moe, Larry and Curly can still be seen today on AMC every morning and also have huge marathons on major holidays. For those big Stooge fans, Sony Pictures has released every episode on DVD, and being a huge stooge fan, I can say I have purchased all of them.
One of the things that the Three Stooges missed until later in their careers was full feature length movie fame. This only came with the addition to Curly Joe in the group, which is still a big swing and a miss. Well in 2012, the Farrelly Brothers will make a fictional movie based on the iconic trio which will bring a new generation of fans hopefully. So one of the biggest questions from the upcoming film is who would be playing the Stooges. Looks like it is official that one of the Stooges has been casted, one clue, Nyuck, Nyuck, Nyuck!!
