Galaxy Note 10.1 coming this month! [VIDEO]

Samsung’s newest tablet is ready to swoop in and steal some iPad thunder and it’s ready to do it soon. Sammy unveiled the Note 10.1 earlier Monday, they wisely decided to expand their phablet Note into a better slate than the previous (and currently under patent litigation by Apple) Galaxy Tab. Tucked inside that svelte frame is 1.4 GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel backside camera with a front facing 1.9 megapixel camera and a 10.1″ WXGA LCD display. Software side we’ll see Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and Sammy’s S-Pen suite of productivity tools. The models hitting this month will be either be WiFi only or WiFi with HSPA+. Sometime later this year should also bring forth a 4G LTE model. No pricing yet but expect some news soon.
As a current Note owner, I’m pretty excited about the 10.1. The multiscreen multitasking looks to be damn promising, especially when we usually have more than one screen open while working. It even comes with Adobe Photoshop Touch so peeps can get their pic editing on! The Smart Stay from the Galaxy S III makes an appearance on the 10.1 as well as Pop Up Play, a video player that brings videos over whatever you’re doing. Plus, a bigger S-Pen!
Hit the break and check out Samsung’s press release and a promo video highlighting all the features. Could this be the one to dethrone the iPad? Hit those comments geeks!

Got a Galaxy Note? Then Ice Cream Sandwich is yours for the taking!
Last Updated on Wednesday, 11 July 2012 01:05 Written by LoganDX Wednesday, 11 July 2012 07:00
Owners of Samsung’s “phablet” Galaxy Note have started to see messages that the luscious Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade is available for their devices. This is not a fluke or test like we recently saw with AT&T‘s Galaxy S II, this is confirmed by Sammy as the real deal. Some users are claiming the update is coming in two forms, either as an OTA push or by hitting in “Software Update” in the phone’s system settings. However, Samsung and AT&T state the official way to get Android 4.0 is by using the much hated Samsung Kies. Sure it sucks but it’s the way it’s gotta be geeks.
Besides the speedy improvements that ICS brings to the previously running Gingerbread Note, Samsung also included a set of apps to enhance the functionality of the S-Pen. Your Note can now recognize shapes better and translate them into smooth, professional looking geometric sketches with Shape Match. Want to guess what Formula Match does? You got it, your Note will translate formulas and equations into text, look up answers via WolframAlpha.com or even help you search for the answer. One of the better features involves reading your written questions and finding the answers online. It’s alive!
There’s also a My Story App for you multimedia geeks out there who like to..well, tell your story. The app lets you create albums, e-cards, letters and the what not to express yourselves through the creative art of digital scrapbooking. Or something like that. It will be available in Samsung’s own app roundup, Samsung Apps. S Memo also got a boost to its productivity, especially in the widget. Now it’s much easier to get to the meat of the app and files can be synced to Evernote or Google Drive.
Ma-ma-more…

AT&T releases then sorta dereleases ICS update for Galaxy S II.
Last Updated on Thursday, 21 June 2012 07:35 Written by LoganDX Thursday, 21 June 2012 07:35
Been a bit of a fervor going on regarding the long awaited Ice Cream Sandwich update for AT&T’s Galaxy S II. Those of us who’ve been obsessively checking forums, blogs and Twitter thought the wait was finally over. The news hit hard and fast that Ma Bell had released the update for the masses. Pretty much instantly, geeks were either rejoicing or groaning. Why? Well because some were able to download ICS while others were denied faster than the chess club president asking the out prom queen.
There’s plenty of pics and vids floating over the net, showing the lucky geeks playing around but what about the rest of us? Oh just AT&T testing the update on the server before they “officially” release it to the masses. The full scale roll out is still scheduled but as usual the vague “soon” is the best we get.
Once ICS hits AT&T, this leaves only Sprint holding the bag to update their Epic 4G Touch. Which sucks for the folks on the Now Network, neither the carrier nor Sammy have let out any indication when they plan on pushing ICS out. Keep hope alive though guys, maybe wishes will come true!

Samsung to bring Ice Cream Sandwich to T-Mobile devices, does it matter?
Last Updated on Tuesday, 15 May 2012 10:50 Written by LoganDX Wednesday, 16 May 2012 09:00
Been sitting on an Ice Cream Sandwich capable Samsung device on the T-Mobile service? Been wondering when\if you might get the sweet and tasty upgrade to Android 4.0.4? Well guess what, Samsung has delivered part of the answer! The “if” portion has been revealed: the Galaxy S II, The Galaxy S Blaze 4G, Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus. That’s it folks, nothing else. Samsung has stated they would release upgrades to certain phones giving some ICS functionality in the near future.
Samsung is in close communication with both Google and our carrier partners to upgrade devices to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as quickly and as smoothly as possible. Specific models that will receive the ICS update include the following devices. Other specifics for the ICS update in the U.S. have not been announced.
The question is, does it really matter? Here we are six months out from the official release of 4.0, it itself getting three updates since then. Only one Samsung phone has received an official update to 4.0, the Sprint Nexus S 4G. Most users of the Galaxy S here in the states were lucky to grab the Gingerbread update shortly before ICS was announced which means we’ll be in the same boat once more. You know, because rumors are that Google will announce Jelly Bean later this year. Samsung is slowly weaning its customers off of caring about their new devices by the lackluster communication and untimely upgrades. So much for that Android Alliance.
