Geeky Gadget Review: Galaxy Note 2
Last Updated on Tuesday, 12 February 2013 05:14 Written by LoganDX Tuesday, 12 February 2013 05:14
I’m a lover of my Gen 1 Note. The bigger screen makes movie watching and game playing awesome and much easier on the eyes. The S-Pen comes in handy when my fat fingers can’t hit the right spot and the screen cap features make Facebook sharing more fun. I have no problems with the bigger size, I find a pocket to slip it in just fine – even with a case.
When Samsung gave me a chance to take the Note 2 out for a test drive, I was obviously more than enthused. Because they sent a CDMA Sprint model over, sadly I wasn’t able to make it my daily driver (Sprint has poor service in my area). I decided to use the Note 2 as a more “fun” device, playing games, watching Netflix, etc. I wanted to see if the device could be more than just a top of the line cell phone, I wanted to have fun with it.
The first thing I did was download Grand Theft Auto III for the Note 2. The extra .2″ in the 5.5″ wasn’t really noticeable, it was pretty much like playing it on my Note. Not to say playing GTA III on a 5″ screen isn’t fun, I don’t see the extra in the screen dimensions. The HD Super AMOLED screen is still bright and beautiful and worth the investment. I played the usual rounds of Star Wars Angry Birds ans Plants vs Zombies – same fun factor.

Be wary of Bad Piggies for Chrome, malware incoming!
Last Updated on Wednesday, 10 October 2012 11:08 Written by LoganDX Thursday, 11 October 2012 11:00
It never takes long does it? It’s come out that approximately 80,000 people have fallen for a malware infected version of Rovio’s latest mega-hit, Bad Piggies. The users downloaded a free version of the app called “Angry Birds Bad Piggies” for Google’s Chrome browser and in doing so they brought with it an unwanted plugin. The additional piece of software pushes advertisements on-screen when folks visit certain websites like MSN, Yahoo, eBay and others.
If anyone has fallen for the ploy, uninstall that bad boy pronto. After that, run the standard battery of antivirus and malware software. It’s also highly recommended to change passwords once again. After that, treat browser plugins like any mobile app and watch for those permissions. It also wouldn’t hurt to pony up the dough for the official developer’s app. Especially Rovio and Bad Piggies.

Angry Birds Space gets a little bit of Curiosity. [VIDEO]
Last Updated on Thursday, 23 August 2012 04:47 Written by LoganDX Thursday, 23 August 2012 04:47
NASA and Rovio have teamed up to slide in a new level for Angry Birds Space, the Red Planet. Thanks to the successful landing of the Mars Rover Curiosity, the furious fowl have a new area for their righteous retribution against those egg pilfering pigs. There’s 20 levels in all plus 2 antenna egg levels plus a brand new punching bag, the astronaut pig.
The levels will be filled with erupting volcanoes, asteroids covered in feather singing fire as well as three rovers and landers hidden around. Once they’re found, awesome NASA info and hidden levels will be unlocked, adding a good chunk of gameplay to the already full to the brim game. The update, like all Rovio add ons, is free and available now in the appstore of your choice.
Hit the break and check out the short but sweet trailer…

Angry Birds: The Pigs Will Have Their Revenge
Last Updated on Monday, 9 July 2012 07:29 Written by Laddie13 Monday, 9 July 2012 07:29
In the few short years since Angry Birds was released it has become a cultural phenomenon. Heck even my dog and cat both have toys based on the series. Our feathered friends have traveled to space and beyond but when do the pigs get their revenge? Rumors are that Rovio is looking to add the option to play as the pigs in the next chapter of the oh so addicting series. There would be a variety of pigs on board to help you defend the eggs the pigs pilfered from the birds. Keeping with the theory if it ain”t broke don’t fix it, the game will still be physics based and involve the catapulting of pigs at birds who try to get their eggs back into the now famous wood and stone structures.
Maybe the pigs were wrong to steal the birds eggs but I think it’s due time the pigs get to fight back for the pig popping genocide the birds have subjected them to. If speculation holds true look for the new game to be released before the end of the year. Rest assured Don’t Hate The Geek will inform you of all the details if and when they become available. I wonder what the new game will be called, Pissed Off Pigs perhaps?
