Get a handle on Robin in this Arkham City vid. [VIDEO]

He ain’t heavy, he’s my sidekick. At least that’s what a lot of us thought about the newer Robin. Personally, I haven’t downloaded the Robin DLC pack for Arkham City since I simply wasn’t sure about the Boy Wonder. Watching this video put together by Rocksteady has pretty much changed my mind. He’s not just Batman-lite here, he has some impressive moves in his repertoire. Robin can deflect bullets with a shield built into his staff whereas Bats has to duck and hide from them. He has a brutal looking zip-kick that just might cave in the chest of any unlucky goon on the receiving end. The best part might just be the Snap Flash, a mobile mine. Plant it on an unsuspecting baddie and let him get into a group of his cohorts then detonate. Boom goes the dynamite! Better yet, knock out him out, plant the mine and wait for them to come check it out. Just like Batman’s explosive gel, set it off when several get close for maximum damage!

The Robin DLC pack is available separately for 560 Microsoft Points ($7) or the recently released Arkham Bundle which also includes the Nightwing pack and the Batman Skins pack for 1200 MS points ($15). There’s even a video showcasing that dlc as well. Hit the jump the check both out and decide for yourselves!

The best (and worst) games of 2011 – opinion 2.

As 2011 draws to a close, it’s time to reflect on the year’s noteworthy games. You’ve already gotten one geek’s perspective and now I’m gonna throw my 2.5 cents down. It has definitely been a year of hits with Batman: Arkham City, Gears of War 3, Portal 2, The Witcher 2, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Dead Rising 2, Dead Space 2…okay so we’ve had a lot of sequels this year! But we also got Deus Ex: Human Revolution (prequel, so it’s different), Bulletstorm, Brink, Child of Eden, and Dead Island among many more.

With so many releases, so many titles, what did we think was worthy of playing? What did we hate? I’m glad you asked because I’ve been dying to tell you! I’m gonna break it down for you as best as a manic geek like myself can. There’s the standard Game of the Year, console specific honors and even a solemn disappointment category. Ready for the festivities? Hit the jump and be prepared to yell!

The best (and worst) games of 2011

2011 has been a pretty epic year for video games. We’ve had enormous games like Skyrim and Arkham City, while on the other side of the coin there have been some awesome smaller, indie games like Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet. And so, lets count down the very best and also the very worst games of this year!

Starting with the consoles:

PS3- This year has been a good year for PS3 with the likes of Little Big Planet 2 and KillZone 3 being released. But I think it is safe to say that the biggest and if not the best game for PS3 this year was Uncharted 3. Naughty Dog  produced a masterpiece here with phenomenal voice acting from the video game legend that is Nolan North. If you have been keeping up with gaming news Naughty Dog released a video for their new game The Last of Us, so stayed tuned here for more news on that.
