Next Assassin’s Creed going all new.

It appears Ubisoft is looking to change up the next Assassin’s Creed again by bringing some new elements. First up is a new hero. Yes a new Assassin already. Secondly will be a new time period for the game. Lastly we can expect a new developer for the game.

I’m pretty sad that we haven’t heard about a new side chapter like AC: Brotherhood or Revelations. Ubisoft spent a lot of time getting us to become familiar with Connor to just dump him for another new face and new backstory. Connor is still ripe for adventure, especially in the Revolutionary America time frame. Why not give us a fall sequel like they’ve been doing? After Brotherhood and Revelations, it seems so right.

The surprising thing is that they’re using a new developer for the game. Ubisoft Montreal has done a bang up job of the franchise so far, why dump them? And who is this mystery developer? Are they going to the recently purchased THQ Montreal? Inquiring minds want to know!

Ubisoft says the next Assassin’s Creed should be out before April 2014. More details will be forthcoming.

Assassin’s Creed Revelations: New DLC [VIDEO]

Hey there fellow assassins! A new singleplayer romp through the Animus is coming up!

The new DLC called The Lost Archive plans to tie up loose ends.. We hope anyway. In this DLC we learn more about the mysterious Subject 16, an Animus test subject that went a tad loopy and painted the walls with his blood.

According to Zavvi, this little trek will include some nice goodies.

  • 3 character skins
  • Ezio Turkish Assassin Armour
  • Altaïr robe
  • The Armour of Brutus

Now thats not all! It boasts 10 Achievements/Trophies, Vlad the Impaler’s Prison Single Player Mission and three exclusive multiplayer characters.

This DLC drops Tuesday, February 28th for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

In the words of old, this is gonna rock our socks. Cause I sure can assure you that it rocked mine. Check out the highlight video after the break!

Why Assassin’s Creed Revelations will ruin your life

The Assassin’s Creed series has gone from strength to strength and Revelations is by far the best of the series to date. Everything has been refined from combat to multiplayer, and it really makes a noticeable difference. Ezio has travelled to Constantinople to find 5 “Masayaf Keys” in order to open Altair’s library which is concealed underneath the old Assassin’s fortress in Masayaf. Now don’t worry if you’re a new comer to the Assassin’s Creed franchise because everything you need to know is explained as you play through the game.

As for the campaign, there are two parallel stories which you have to deal with. Firstly and most importantly the hunt for the Masayaf Keys and secondly unravelling the cause of a violent power struggle in Constantinople. Both these campaigns are very gripping and no longer have the tedious feel that the other Assassins Creed  games suffered from. The characters are lovable (or hateable), such as the animated Ysuf Tazim ”da Istanbul”,  so much so that I felt tinge of sadness when one particular character died.
