Afraid to take on Inferno Hardcore Diablo? These guys weren’t! [VIDEO]

I admit it, I haven’t played Diablo III. My dirty secret is out. If I ever think about playing it, all I need to do is watch the video of the first confirmed kill of Inferno Diablo on the hardore setting. Ye gods, I couldn’t do that! Hardcore, where you can die for real – no redos, no checkpoints, combined with the brain splatting, nail splitting, hair losing difficulty of Inferno? No thanks!

The duo of Kripp & Krippi invested the impressive time to not only play through every difficulty level but also stay alive during the insanity of Inferno to punch a hole in the black heart of the evil titular character. Once more, No thanks! Hardcore Diablo isn’t on my bucket list.

Hit the jump and check it for yourselves geeks! Does it give you hope for your own hardcoreness?

There be lootin’ going on, Diablo 3 accounts getting hacked!

Never let it be said that a Blizzard game can avoid scandal. Nevermind your error 3006′s and 37′s, something more sinister has arisen. What first appeared to be a possibly minor glitch in Diablo 3  is turning into a full-blown robbery on the hard-working dungeon exploring peeps. It seems angry players have logged in to find themselves bereft of loot, gold and more by nefarious hackers. The evil doers are even going as far as to strip the characters down to their digital nakedness! Hide yo loot, hide yo draws, hide yo gold – they be robbin’ errrybody out there!

What about the Authenticator, Blizzard’s added layer of security? Surely that helped folks, right? Nope, victims are reporting that even with that enabled they’ve found their virtual homes ransacked by the online burglars. We’re talking ninja like thieves up in here! Where’s Scooby Doo and the Gang when we need them?

Unconfirmed reports are suggesting that the hackers are gaining access to the accounts via session identifiers. The thieves allegedly hijack the identifiers, proceed with the vacuuming of precious items all the while Blizzard is blissfully unaware. Or it might have something to do with the EU servers being taken offline following an assumed SQL injection attack. Again, merely speculation because Blizzard is being eerily quiet right now.

$88 Million Awarded to Blizzard

If you are a geek worth anything you know who Blizzard is and what they do.  Well, do you think they are hurting for money?  Because it was ruled that a private server company, Scapegaming (aka Alyson Reeves) was ordered to pay Blizzard Entertainment over $88 million in damages after losing a lawsuit last week.

Yes, we will all weep a little but the worst part is according to the lawsuit this company only made just over $3 million for operating unauthorized World of Warcraft servers and using a micropayment system to collect money from the servers’ user base.  You don’t have to be a mathematician folks, that means Scapegaming is royally screwed.  There is really no coming back from this.  For this small matter it was $63,000 in attorney’s fees.

I really should have spent a lot more time with a guidance counselor if I could have been raking that in.  Let me know you thoughts.
