Superman: Man of Steel Villain is Officially Announced

Today has been a big day for the Superman re-boot film project.  It is now officially been titled, just Man of Steel.  We here at DHTG have been speculating that this would be the title for the film, and now it is officially been titled.  We already know that Henry Cavill will play Clark Kent aka Superman in the film as well as Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Kevin Costner as Jonathon Kent and Diane Lane as Martha Kent.  It is also known that the character of Ursa will be in the film, one of General Zod’s minions that were introduced to fans in Superman II.  Now, Zack Snyder, director of the film, has gone on record that Zod would NOT be involved in the film.  Then it has been rumored that Warner Bros. indeed wanted to include General Zod in the film and wanted Viggo Mortenson to play him.  Today, it is now official that General Zod WILL BE the principal villain in the film, but it will not be Viggo Mortenson playing him.  And the lucky actor is???? Another Stooge is Cast, Larry Fine, Meet Your Actor……..

A-casting they will go, seems like the Farrelly Brothers are up to it again by trying to find the right actors to play the leads in their latest film, The Three Stooges.  As we have reported in earlier DHTG posts, Will Sasso has been officially been casted to play Curly, a somewhat surprise cast since Jim Carrey dropped out of the running.  In case you haven’t heard, the film will be a fictional story portraying the hijinks of the comedy trio and try to capitalize on bringing the team toward a new generation of fans.  With a tentative release date in 2012, initial shooting for the film would be fitting to start in the very near future.  One important aspect that could be delaying shooting is quite simply, who is going to play the other two stooges, Moe and Larry.  Well, another cast has been officially released, and in my opinion, is a bit of a stretch. Official: One Stooge Casting Down, 2 To Go….

When you think of a comedy team, who do you think of?  When you hear that question, you might think of Chris Farley and David Spade, Abbot and Costello (for you old folks) or Rain Wilson and Steve Carell.  What I think of is a group out of the black and white era of TV.  That group is the Three Stooges.  Moe, Larry and Curly can still be seen today on AMC every morning and also have huge marathons on major holidays.  For those big Stooge fans, Sony Pictures has released every episode on DVD, and being a huge stooge fan, I can say I have purchased all of them.

One of the things that the Three Stooges missed until later in their careers was full feature length movie fame.  This only came with the addition to Curly Joe in the group, which is still a big swing and a miss.  Well in 2012, the Farrelly Brothers will make a fictional movie based on the iconic trio which will bring a new generation of fans hopefully.  So one of the biggest questions from the upcoming film is who would be playing the Stooges.  Looks like it is official that one of the Stooges has been casted, one clue, Nyuck, Nyuck, Nyuck!!
