In Our Time Of Need: A Dark Knight Rises
Last Updated on Tuesday, 24 July 2012 01:42 Written by Laddie13 Tuesday, 24 July 2012 02:00
This weekend like many of you, I went to see The Dark Knight Rises. It was an excellent end to Christopher Nolan’s trilogy and what I feel is the epitome of superhero movies. Batman is and always has been my favorite superhero. Sure he doesn’t have cool mutant powers like the X-Men nor did he get bit by a radioactive spider, Batman’s super powers stem from his humanity. Batman fans all have their favorite version of our hero but I think no one has captured the duality of Bruce Wayne/Batman better than Christian Bale. This is no doubt also a credit to Christopher Nolan for realizing Bale’s intensity matches his own dark vision of the superhero.

The build up to The Dark Knight Rises hailed it as an epic that could possibly dethrone The Avengers as this years top film, as well as this years top comicbook-to-film adaptation. The Dark Knight must return from his reclusive life in the halls of Wayne Manor to face an enemy that outdoes him in terms of both strength and intelligence- Bane. Batman must stop Bane from raising the city of Gotham while fighting his inner demons that have plagued him as well as dealing with his dark past, which has finally caught up with him. Does The Dark Knight Rises do justice for The Caped Crusader? Hit the break for the fullspoiler free review.

The new Dark Knight Rises trailer is certifiably dark! [VIDEO]
Last Updated on Tuesday, 1 May 2012 08:52 Written by LoganDX Tuesday, 1 May 2012 07:46
“Do you think he’s coming back?” “I don’t know.”
Odd to hear those words and know they’re being spoken about the Dark Knight. One thing we always could count on was him being there, in the shadows, waiting to serve justice and knock the teeth out of some filthy low-life. But after the events of The Dark Knight, it’s a different Gotham. A Gotham in need of its guardian. And no one knows if he’ll come to their aid this time.
The newest trailer for The Dark Knight Rises sets the mood perfectly for this summer’s trilogy ender. Gotham may not have been this down in many, many years and Bane is here to finish it off. He has business to take care of with Batman and it won’t be over until he’s broken Bruce Wayne. The whole atmosphere of the trailer delivers serious chills as viewers can watch the mayhem start to unfold. The desperation is visible not just in the ordinary citizens’ eyes but also those of the heroes. It’s almost heart breaking to watch.
Hit the break and see it for yourselves. These next few months are going to be long!

Mega ThinkGeek roundup!
Last Updated on Sunday, 11 March 2012 11:14 Written by LoganDX Monday, 12 March 2012 07:00
Our pals at ThinkGeek bring out so many sweet and wicked cool geeky things that sometimes it can be overwhelming to sort it all out. We’re here to help you by highlighting some of the funner things to grace their digital shelves in the last few weeks. A collection of wearables, buildables and even things for the wee little ones!
One thing we geeks love is Legos. They touch our inner child, they let us design the fantastical structures of our deepest desires. The geniuses at Lego have been dialing us into themed kits for quite some time and they’ve been getting more awesome by the day. We got our hands on a quartet of geekcentric sets to get our build on with, Superman vs Power Armor Lex, Catwoman City Chase, Droid Escape and Tie Interceptor. While these were made for the younger set, they’re just as much fun to put together for adults. Everything fits like a mad scientist’s encoded blueprint, once they’re pieced the right way they become something elegant. The Power Armor Lex was the best one to build, it ends up being a Krytonite fueled Earth shaker able to crush heroes cold. It even comes with a trio of Minifigs: Lex Luthor, Superman and Wonder Woman. You can grab any of these on the site from $9.99 to $19.99 plus tons of other Lego goodies.
Want to have some fun with co-workers, friends and neighbors? If so, the Horse Head Mask is for you! Modeled after a bizarre Japanese anime, the mask has been brought here for equestrian shenanigans. Made out of latex and fake fur, the mask will get plenty of stares from surprised on-lookers and curious rubberneckers. It also makes for a great prop in photos and videos for the next YouTube sensation. Don’t expect to run around like normal though, the eye holes sit pretty far out and make visibility a problem. More and more after the break….
