Meet Outlast, the PC survival horror game coming from big time developers. [VIDEO]

It’s fair to say that much like first person shooters, survival horror games will never go away. Some blow our minds, some get crapped on, some we never even hear of. Outlast is a newly announced survival horror game that might just turn one insane, cause some pants crapping and is guaranteed to get noticed.
Backed by industry heavyweights from such franchises as Assassin’s Creed, Prince of Persia, Splinter Cell and Uncharted, the game is priming itself to start a new cult of players. The developers decided to name their new studio after one of gaming’s biggest cliches – Red Barrels. Not sure if it points to their extensive years in gaming or that they could blow up in your face if you become careless. Either way is good with me.
“Hell is an experiment you can’t survive in Outlast.”
Outlast aims to scare the bejesus of players by delving into the monstrous notions of the human psyche. Set in the creepy Mount Massive Asylum, deep in the Colorado mountains, our hero Miles Upshur begins investigating the facility thanks to an inside source. Once in the asylum, Miles learns that scary things that bump in the night might not be the worse things out there. “There are already a lot of great games out there about terrifying monsters that eat brains; we want Outlast’s to be scary because you’ll know the enemies you face still have them” – Red Barrel co-founder Philippe Morin.
Red Barrels plans to bring the PC only title to Steam sometime in 2013. Keep your peepers here as more info and images come in! Hit the break to catch the press release, a few screen shots and the first teaser trailer.

Tragedy strikes Colorado, lawsuits begin.
Last Updated on Thursday, 26 July 2012 12:54 Written by LoganDX Wednesday, 25 July 2012 07:00
By now everyone has started to shake off the shock from the tragic shooting in Colorado at the premiere of The Dark Knight Rises. The populace is still dealing with the “why?s” but one opportunistic slime has decided to make a quick buck off the still warm bodies. Torrance Brown, Jr was one of the eager fans ready to watch the finale to the Dark Knight trilogy when gunfire erupted in the theater. Brown watched one of his friends take a bullet to the chest and die. So to honor the memory of his best bud, he decided the absolute best way possible was to level a tri-level litigation style attack.
Brown has squared his sights on three defendants: the Century 16 movie theater, the “alleged” shooter’s doctors and….Warner Brothers! Yeah, this lowlife has decided the studio behind the movie he was watching should be held responsible for the death of his friend. Greedy money grubber Brown’s scumbag lawyer went on record to TMZ saying “Somebody has to be responsible for the rampant violence that is shown today.”. So let me get this straight, Brown paid money to see the movie at midnight with his deceased friend but now wants to blame to very product he paid for? Are you kidding me? You were there, at the very “violent” movie yourself, jackass! What’s next, suing Holmes’ parents for conceiving him? Shame is clearly not something this guy has ever, nor will ever, feel.
He’s also suing the theater for not properly securing the emergency door. It should have been alarmed or guarded? Really? So when movie theaters triple the price of tickets, this guy will be to blame. Then he’ll sue because the theater is gouging the prices. You know because he’s such an upstanding, moral citizen and all. How in the world can anybody, let alone the theater, prepare and properly secure against a lunatic? Especially one coming out of left field like that? Plus, the doctors? Oh boy, that one really gets me. The judgemental slime claims that Holmes “appears to be on several medications” and the mysterious doctors didn’t properly monitor him. This guy has clearly lost his damn mind! I haven’t heard one peep about the Holmes being on any form of medication, so to assume he is…well you geeks know that old expression. So bringing in “doctors” that might not exist is yet another futile attempt to bankroll his future.

Google hits the powder to take Street View to slopes! [VIDEO]

Street View for Google Maps is a wonderfully fun addition to the mapping services. Instead of looking at some bland map, you can zoom down and check out exactly what you’re looking for. Or you can be a peeper and just view whatever was going on when Google drove down your ex’s street. Either way, you get a better experience. Well the masterminds at Google outfitted a snowmobile with a 360° camera and took to a few ski slopes to bring the snow home to you!
The modded vehicle scanned in images of Breckenridge Ski Resort in Colorado, Squaw Valley in upstate California and Whistler Blackcomb in America’s cap, Canada. No other resorts have been mentioned yet but one can only believe more will be added as time goes on. As you can see, the images are gorgeous and makes me want to stay at home even more. Yep, I have no need to go skiing now thanks to Google! Hit the jump to see some more photos of the Slope View as well as Google’s video of it in action.
