Geeky Gadget Review and Giveaway: SodaStream Soda Maker.
Last Updated on Monday, 26 November 2012 04:32 Written by LoganDX Friday, 2 November 2012 11:00
I admit it, I’m a massive drink geek. I love my Mountain Dew, my Dr. Pepper and especially my Rockstars. I also love to grab the newest new drinks on the market even if they might suck my brains into a pit. That being said, I realized I was spending way too much on pop and throwing away a lot of empty bottles. Walking through a store I’m kind of ashamed to admit being in, I witnessed the SodaStream maker for the very first time. One time and I knew I needed to try it for myself.
The premise of the SodaStream is very simple. You take a supplied carbonating bottle, fill it up with tap water and then attach it to the machine. A few quick presses and you have instant carbonated water. After that, you mix in the soda flavor of your choice, shake and enjoy! Waste is practically eliminated, the carbonating unit uses no electricity, there’s no “stocking of the fridge” and you can make drinks to your taste. Supplies can be purchased online and at local retailers.
I’ve had a unit in my greedy palms for a while now and I bet you geeks wonder how it fared. Well hit the break and find out exactly how it did!

Last Updated on Tuesday, 6 November 2012 05:01 Written by LoganDX Wednesday, 24 October 2012 08:35
Here it is, time once more for Halloween. What better way to get all spooky then with your very own functional Metro: Last Light gas mask? You heard me geeks, real gas masks to scare the bejeesus out of your friends, neighbors and skittish store owners*. Since they also work as actual gas masks, you can help funnel out the noxious fumes from an all night bean burrito and Monster bender.
We’re giving away two gas masks for a couple of lucky geeks and a swell Metro: Last Light t-shirt. So for those paying attention at home, two geeks will each take home a Metro gas mask packed in its own branded bag as well as a Metro t-shirt! Don’t get too offended folks, we only have Large and X-Large shirt sizes. Sure they don’t fit a Big Poppa geek like myself but I’m in a class all by my lonesome.
To get in on the winning, hit the break and get your Rafflecopter on. There’s also pics to see what the winners will be getting, just ignore the dork modeling the gas mask! Thanks go out to our rocking fans at THQ for the swag, make sure to give them a shout out. The contest will end appropriately on Halloween so don’t dawdle.
*DHTG does not actually recommend wearing your new gas mask into a store or anywhere that might end in with your demise.

Geeky Giveaway: BadAss on blu ray!
Last Updated on Wednesday, 6 June 2012 01:02 Written by LoganDX Thursday, 31 May 2012 05:30
Winner picked, check thy emails geeks!
The beard has become real! Anybody who’s ever seen the Epic Beard Man video on Youtube might be surprised to find out it was turned into a movie. Okay, inspired a movie if you want to be technical. The movie is real and it stars perpetual badass, Danny Trejo. Mr. Machete himself takes on the gangs, the baddies and the corrupt cops in the city that had forsaken him years ago upon his return from Vietnam. Now his new found fame prompts him to find the killer of his best friend since those crooked cops won’t. And maybe clean up the city while he’s at it.
Kicking criminal butts and taking the law into his own hands, Danny Trejo (Machete, “Sons of Anarchy”) ignites the screen in the gritty, violent and enthralling film Bad Ass. Inspired by the viral video of a vigilante citizen taking action into his own hands, Bad Ass also stars Ron Perlman (“Sons of Anarchy,” Hellboy) and Charles S. Dutton (Alien 3). Bad Ass tells the story of decorated Vietnam hero, Frank Vega, who returns home only to be shunned by society. It’s not until 40 years later when an incident on a commuter bus makes him a local hero and he’s suddenly celebrated once again. But his good fortune ends when his best friend, Klondike, is murdered and the police aren’t doing anything about it.
Nothing can really top a full tilt action flick with Danny Trejo crushing skulls and blowing crap up! Grab a couple buds, some tasty refreshments and a bucket of popcorn then sit back to watch the craziness unfold. Hit the break to shoot in some entries as well as check out more films that looked too fake to be true.
