The CryEngine 3 maiden voyage

Crytek have always been renowned for their phenomenal graphics engines in games like Crysis and Crysis 2. ORMEntertainment has taken the new Crytek engine and combined it with Titanic. No not the film, the boat, and it looks amazing. The graphics, the reflections, the shading, pretty much everything is jaw droppingly beautiful. Compare the video to the picture above for perspective. If this is the future of gaming, then I’m going to need a new computer!

Quick Geek Update: PS Store Is Back!
Last Updated on Thursday, 2 June 2011 10:45 Written by LoganDX Thursday, 2 June 2011 02:00
Late in the evening of June 1st, a minor miracle occurred – Sony finally restored the PS Store to the awaiting masses. This includes access to all facets of the store including demos, avatars and add-ons. With the update comes a galaxy’s worth of content that PS3 users have missed out on over the last month. Add-ons for Crysis 2, Dragon Age 2, Fallout: New Vegas, new demos and even some price drops. PlayStation Plus members are looking at a massive amount of digital goodies to snap up, makes me almost wish I was one.
Full functionality seems to be spotty as some users, including myself, are getting a content error when searching through the store. Be patient as Sony is sure to be fixing this. The one noticeable absence is the Customer Appreciation goodies Sony promised back when the PSN was restored. Sony did state that they were in the final stages of testing and should be ready soon. There is another update scheduled for the Store and Plus members on Friday the 3rd so let’s hope it’s a good one. Now I’m off to my inFamous 2 beta for a few days. Hasta geeks!

Crysis 2 Review: Is It Worth It?
Last Updated on Monday, 28 March 2011 07:38 Written by baldalbino Monday, 28 March 2011 02:30

The year is 2023 and New York City is being assaulted! A killer virus is rampaging the city, martial law is been enforced by an uneasy alliance between the military and a private security company by the name of Crynet. As if that is not enough action to keep anyone busy, the real threat emerges as aliens begin to invade. Crysis 2 moves away from the jungles that were prevalent in the original Crysis, and takes us into the jungle of New York City. This urban jungle has you playing inside of buildings, crumbling bridges and huge city areas.
You play as a marine named Alcatraz, who like his predecessor in the original Crysis (Nomad), wears a Nanosuit. The Nanosuit allows for your soldier to become a super-soldier. With the Nanosuit you have the ability to leap to impossible heights, cloak yourself invisible (for a short time) and scan your environment. Think of yourself as a kind of walking small version of the Hulk. You have powerful strength and the armor makes you almost impossible to kill. Everything that you see in this game is from the first person view, making for great game play that keeps you engaged. Read more on the Crysis 2 Review. Read more: Crysis 2 Review: Is It Worth It?
