No Way! Apple approves BitTorrent app for AppStore! UPDATED!
Last Updated on Tuesday, 5 October 2010 08:34 Written by The Geek Monday, 4 October 2010 06:00
Update Below
Your not going to believe this but Apple has approved a BitTorrent application for its app store. Apple has always argued the BitTorrent scene as “often” infringing on copyrights and said the applications are NOT allowed in its store.
“IS Drive” which used to be avaliable on the Cydia store under the name “Jack Torrents” was approved this week and made ready to buy. This app isn’t like some of the BitTorrents you might be used to like Transmission or uTorrent. It is limited to premium Imageshack Torrent Drive users who spent the $4.99 for the iPhone app. You might think it is a torrent client, but its not. There isn’t any actual “torrenting” happening through the app but instead its main purpose is just to queue something up to you Torrent Drive account )If you have one).
The developer says he might add some more features that will give the ability to manually add a torrent site of your choosing but in the meantime we are all limited to Imageshack drive.
No matter how you look at this, this is a huge jump for the locked down app store. More and more apps like this are showing up everyday.
IS Drive is available for $4.99 in the App Store for all of you that have a Imageshack Torrent Drive account. Watch the video to see more.

UPDATE: As quick as we could get this post up Apple has already removed the app. The creator of the app is trying to fight it but we will have to see. Well Apple still holding onto those closed apps somehow. BOOOO from DHTG.
