Tragedy strikes Colorado, lawsuits begin.

By now everyone has started to shake off the shock from the tragic shooting in Colorado at the premiere of The Dark Knight Rises. The populace is still dealing with the “why?s” but one opportunistic slime has decided to make a quick buck off the still warm bodies. Torrance Brown, Jr was one of the eager fans ready to watch the finale to the Dark Knight trilogy when gunfire erupted in the theater. Brown watched one of his friends take a bullet to the chest and die. So to honor the memory of his best bud, he decided the absolute best way possible was to level a tri-level litigation style attack.

Brown has squared his sights on three defendants: the Century 16 movie theater, the “alleged” shooter’s doctors and….Warner Brothers! Yeah, this lowlife has decided the studio behind the movie he was watching should be held responsible for the death of his friend. Greedy money grubber Brown’s scumbag lawyer went on record to TMZ saying “Somebody has to be responsible for the rampant violence that is shown today.”. So let me get this straight, Brown paid money to see the movie at midnight with his deceased friend but now wants to blame to very product he paid for? Are you kidding me? You were there, at the very “violent” movie yourself, jackass! What’s next, suing Holmes’ parents for conceiving him? Shame is clearly not something this guy has ever, nor will ever, feel.

He’s also suing the theater for not properly securing the emergency door. It should have been alarmed or guarded? Really? So when movie theaters triple the price of tickets, this guy will be to blame. Then he’ll sue because the theater is gouging the prices. You know because he’s such an upstanding, moral citizen and all. How in the world can anybody, let alone the theater, prepare and properly secure against a lunatic? Especially one coming out of left field like that? Plus, the doctors? Oh boy, that one really gets me. The judgemental slime claims that Holmes “appears to be on several medications” and the mysterious doctors didn’t properly monitor him. This guy has clearly lost his damn mind! I haven’t heard one peep about the Holmes being on any form of medication, so to assume he is…well you geeks know that old expression. So bringing in “doctors” that might not exist is yet another futile attempt to bankroll his future.

In Our Time Of Need: A Dark Knight Rises

This weekend like many of you, I went to see The Dark Knight Rises. It was an excellent end to Christopher Nolan’s trilogy and what I feel is the epitome of superhero movies. Batman is and always has been my favorite superhero. Sure he doesn’t have cool mutant powers like the X-Men nor did he get bit  by a radioactive spider, Batman’s super powers stem from his humanity. Batman fans all have their favorite version of our hero but I think no one has captured the duality of Bruce Wayne/Batman better than Christian Bale. This is no doubt also a credit to Christopher Nolan for realizing  Bale’s intensity matches his own dark vision of the superhero.

Five Villains We Want to See in a Batman Reboot

While the Nolan trilogy has come to a an epic conclusion, and with no signs of donning the cape and mask again, it would seem that Batman is up for grabs for any director who wants to try and out do Nolan’s seemingly out do-able trilogy. Personally I would like to see Guillermo del Toro make a grizzly animated version of the Arkham Asylum graphic novel. But that’s another article for another day.

The one of the defining features of Nolan’s trilogy was his choice of villains. Batman has a huge number of nemeses ranging from the well known like The Joker all the way to utterly obscure Calculator, who fought Batman and the Justice League in a costume designed like a pocket calculator. With Scarecrow and Ra’s al Ghul appearing in Batman Begins, then with Heath Ledger’s phenomenal performance as the Joker as well as the appearance of Harvey Dent in The Dark Knight and now with Bane rearing his ugly head in The Dark Knight Rises many of the major villains have been covered. However there are some which, with the right guidance, could be truly terrifying.
