May The Angry Birds Be With You. [VIDEO]
Last Updated on Monday, 8 October 2012 10:35 Written by Laddie13 Monday, 8 October 2012 10:35
This past weekend Rovio teased us with a glimpse of something that looked to be a Star Wars related Angry Bird. Today they announced Angry Birds Star Wars, a brand new addition to the game franchise featuring the birds as characters from the beloved masterpiece that is Star Wars. The pigs who recently got their own game, Bad Piggies, will be cast as Storm Troopers and Darth Vader. Angry Birds Star Wars arrives November 8 on most platforms including iOS and Android devices as well as PCs and Macs.
Rovio, which has partnered with LucasFilm on the game, will and make use of the epic Star Wars soundtrack as well as set the game in various locations from the sci-fi saga like Tatooine, Hoth and the Death Star.
“This is the best Angry Birds game we’ve ever done,” Peter Vesterbacka, CMO of Rovio Entertainment, said in a statement. “It’s the best parts of Angry Birds with all new cutting-edge gameplay set in a galaxy far, far away. As a big Star Wars fan myself, I’m really excited about this new universe. The Force is definitely strong with this one.”
This will play out in one of two ways, Angry Birds Star Wars will either be awesome and bring together two beloved geeky phenomenas or it will be so gimmicky that it will only further tarnish the Star Wars brand. As a lifelong Star Wars fan I will be powerless against it even though my Angry Birds addiction has been in a steady state of decline. I’m also for promoting and exposing younger geeks to the Star Wars universe by any means possible.

Mega ThinkGeek roundup!
Last Updated on Sunday, 11 March 2012 11:14 Written by LoganDX Monday, 12 March 2012 07:00
Our pals at ThinkGeek bring out so many sweet and wicked cool geeky things that sometimes it can be overwhelming to sort it all out. We’re here to help you by highlighting some of the funner things to grace their digital shelves in the last few weeks. A collection of wearables, buildables and even things for the wee little ones!
One thing we geeks love is Legos. They touch our inner child, they let us design the fantastical structures of our deepest desires. The geniuses at Lego have been dialing us into themed kits for quite some time and they’ve been getting more awesome by the day. We got our hands on a quartet of geekcentric sets to get our build on with, Superman vs Power Armor Lex, Catwoman City Chase, Droid Escape and Tie Interceptor. While these were made for the younger set, they’re just as much fun to put together for adults. Everything fits like a mad scientist’s encoded blueprint, once they’re pieced the right way they become something elegant. The Power Armor Lex was the best one to build, it ends up being a Krytonite fueled Earth shaker able to crush heroes cold. It even comes with a trio of Minifigs: Lex Luthor, Superman and Wonder Woman. You can grab any of these on the site from $9.99 to $19.99 plus tons of other Lego goodies.
Want to have some fun with co-workers, friends and neighbors? If so, the Horse Head Mask is for you! Modeled after a bizarre Japanese anime, the mask has been brought here for equestrian shenanigans. Made out of latex and fake fur, the mask will get plenty of stares from surprised on-lookers and curious rubberneckers. It also makes for a great prop in photos and videos for the next YouTube sensation. Don’t expect to run around like normal though, the eye holes sit pretty far out and make visibility a problem. More and more after the break….

Star Wars Xbox 360 bundle is zooming in on April 3rd.
Last Updated on Tuesday, 7 February 2012 04:10 Written by LoganDX Tuesday, 7 February 2012 05:00
I do believe this is the droid you’re looking for. Nearly a year after it was announced, the Limited Edition Kinect Star Wars bundle will hit shelves. Remember that one? The Xbox 360 that looks like a smashed R2-D2 and the C-3PO controller and comes with the spiffy white Kinect? Yeah, that one. Well it finally has an official release date, one confirmed by Major Nelson. On April 3rd, those strong with the Force can spend 450 credits on the 320GB slim version that also comes with the Kinect Star Wars game. Coming along for the ride will also be the standard Kinect Adventures.
The Major also outlined some of the new additions to the Kinect Star Wars, like Jedi Destiny mode. Space battles and Landspeeders will be available for budding Jedi to engage in Sith smackdowns. Duel against Dark Side heavy hitters like Count Dooku and Darth Vader. Geeks can always take a break from donkey punching the Empire and get down in the Galactic Dance Off. Show up Vader on the dance floor or go “Solo” style to hone those chick magnet skills. Let’s just hope the game has gotten better since the last time it was shown off.
