Starting today and running through the 26th, you can grab a plethora of awesome titles to keep even the most jaded of gamers busy. The big mamma jamma is the Square Enix Hit Collection – a whopping package of 36 items for gaming nirvana. It’s got titles like Deus Ex (GOTY Edition, Invisible War and Human Revolution), Dungeon Siege 1-3, Hitman (Blood Money, Silent Assassin, Codename 47), Just Cause 1-2, Kane & Lynch (Dead Men, Dog Days), Tomb Raider (Legend, Anniversary, Underworld, Guardian of Light) and Thief: Deadly Shadows. Geek Game Review: Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Prequels, sometimes they work and sometimes they don’t. They can either add a new element, dimension or point of view. That or they’re The Phantom Menace. I felt some trepidation and excitement when the next Dues Ex game was announced as a prequel to the critically acclaimed series. On one hand we would get to see the events that led to the original Deus Ex, the people who influenced the dystopian future of the franchise. On the other hand, it could be The Phantom Menace.
Set 25 years before the original game, Human Revolution follows the story of Adam Jensen, ex-SWAT member and current security top dog for Sarif Industries. Sarif, founded by David Sarif, is on the fore front of the augmentation industry. Augmentations are the mechanical precursors the earlier games’ nanotech augmentations, technology that allows humans to do spectacular things. As with all life changing scientific breakthroughs, society is divided on the use and regulation of augmentations. The world is at a tipping point, a time where everything can change in a heartbeat.

Deus Ex Predicting the Evolution of Prosthetics [VIDEO]

The Deus Ex series, and its newest chapter, “Human Revolution” have brought the world of cyber prostheses back into the limelight, which is a good thing for those of us who depend on this technological focus. And that includes the writer of this article. Yup, I’ve got an artificial heart valve and a biomechanical right wrist. Full on cyborg geek!
Deux Ex: Human Revolution portrays the beginning of the cyberpunk society, as injured individuals are given back life (and so much more) with the development of cybernetic interfacing robotic limbs, ocular prosthesis, and more. The main character, Adam Jensen, survives a chilling attack, leaving him broken, and the integration of cybertech not only brings him back, but gives him the power to investigate the issues that peripherally caught him in the first place.
