The Knife of Dunwall DLC coming to Dishonored.

1784Rothwild03

For a game that’s garnered a fair amount of positive press, Dishonored sure is lacking in the ole DLC department. Arkane Studios is looking to change that with the second add-on, The Knife of Dunwall. The new story addition tasks players with jumping into the shoes of legendary assassin Daud, he who killed the Empress and set Corvo on his merry way to jail.

Daud must go through a redemption cleansing after his dirty deed and he’ll get a little help from the Outsider. Daud is sent to look for Delilah, the person or object that just may set him free. He’ll be accompanied by his band of misfits, the Whalers, as he travels through new and intriguing areas of Kirkwall. As always, the choices made will ultimately set the stage for his atonement or damnation.

The Knife of Kirkwall DLC will hit PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on April 16th. Purchase price will be $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points. Peep the press release and a few extra screen shots after the break.

‘Tis The Season, The Gaming Season That Is

It’s that time of the year every gamer looks forward to, the blockbuster gaming season. Once summer starts to leave us we welcome the release of many games we have been looking forward to. Sure games are released on a weekly basis but traditionally the years biggest releases are held off in hopes of winning a spot in your holiday spending sprees and gift lists.

I will become fairly anti-social over the next few weeks and will dedicate every spare moment I have on playing video games. To free up some extra time for gaming I will deprive myself of sleep and stay home on Saturday nights. The gaming madness has already begun with Borderlands 2 and Dishonored. I’ve been playing the heck out of Borderlands 2, seriously it’s gaming crack which has forced me to place Dishonored on the back burner for now. Next up is Medal Of Honor Warfighter followed by Assassins Creed 3, Assassins Creed 3 Liberation, Halo 4 and Black Ops 2.

2012 has been an interesting year for me in games. Many of the early releases I was banking on to be favorites disappointed while a few gems I didn’t expect all that much from have snuck into my head and begged for attention. I’ve already starting compiling my best of the year list in my head and I have to say I don’t ever remember a PSN or Arcade title ever ending up as a contender for my game of the year. It’s also been a few years since a military shooter was in the running based solely on its unique storytelling. The dark horse contenders are Papo And Yo and Spec Ops The Line. Also in the running is Mass Effect 3 and The Darkness 2. Read more: ‘Tis The Season, The Gaming Season That Is

Prepare for eyeball hurt with Bethesda’s latest E3 2012 videos! [VIDEO]

Oh E3, what a brain melting time it is. So many games, so little time! Wedged between the copious amounts of videos, fan favorite developer\publisher Bethesda rammed home a trio of insane videos for some upcoming awesomeness! First up is another sick trailer for Dishonored. The game is shaping up nicely and it should since old Big B plans on releasing it this October.

Main man Corvo is seen hopping around stuffing throats with sharp objects, casting spells like a black mage and casting forth swarms of filthy rats to naw on the flesh of guards. The steampunkesque city teems with life, giving Corvo plenty to do, plenty to kill – or not. Dishonored is using an all new morality system structured around how much chaos you do or don’t cause. The city reacts to the chaos accordingly, making it its own entity. Make sure to grab it when it comes out on October 9th!

Lovecraftian Sneaking, Spell Slinging, and Slaying arrives October 9th. [VIDEO]

The extraordinary neo-victorian romp Dishonored is arriving in North America for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on October 9th. And if you haven’t heard about the newest game from Bethesda to be stirring people up, now is the time to check it out. With a tasteful selection of powers, including the ability to control a pack of rats with your mind, and sword play reminiscent of the game Thief, this is going to be a definite contender for one of my top games this year. And who could blame me for getting excited with such promising cover art as this?

In the world of Dunwall, a completely water-locked landmass, disease and corruption run rampant. The Blood Plague, which is spread by rats, attacks the peasants and causes bleeding from the eyes and eventual death. The wealthy sit in fantastic towers and armored cars, detached from the decaying world around them. Until Corvo, our fallen from grace protagonist, decides to give them a taste of their own medicine. Armed with powers gifted to him from the unknown one, and his own natural abilities Corvo cuts a bloody swathe through his targets, none of them standing a chance against his supernatural might. Remember readers, Revenge Solves Everything.

If you’ve had a taste and are looking for more Dishonored to sate your appetite, check out the beautiful trailer located at the bottom of this article.
