Galaxy S II Is Coming But Not To Verizon.

Samsung’s Galaxy S II line has been hotly anticipated by mobile fans and tech geeks for a while now. Samsung is set to pop the covers off the new phones on August 29th but Verizon will not be sitting at the table. Yep, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile will have their own shiny Galaxy S II handsets while Verizon will be acquiring a different device. A device nearly identical to the Galaxy S II but not a Galaxy S II. Rumors are it could be a new DROID, like Samsung’s Droid Charge or something else entirely. The other rumor is that one of the other carriers will give their device a unique name while the other two will keep the Galaxy S II name.

Samsung’s successor to the very popular Galaxy S line is beefing up the specs and fixing a few of the problems from the previous version. Rocking a dual core processor and a lighter, thinner form, this phone is set to sell in the millions. Good thing they kept the Super Amoled screen and included an LED flash.

Droid 3 Manual Leaks, Shows July 7th And 14th Release Dates

We’ve seen a decent amount of information leaked about the Droid 3 already, but here’s more. The release dates are included in this leak, July 14th for retail releases, and July 7th if you want to upgrade in the store and receive the device by mail. The pdf of the manual was also leaked, but the tutorial video from an earlier release pretty much shows all the information.

The only information that none of us knows is the price, which we can probably guess is close to the original price of the Droid 2, maybe a little bit more expensive.

Motorola Razr…Again?!

Well not quite, though it does look very similar. Here I was, thinking that Motorola would only be producing high-end smartphones and Droids, but then I see this phone. It is called the Motorola Gleam and will mainly be sold in Europe, though I could see it selling better in Korea or China as a house phone or something. Instead of a screen on the outside, the Gleam features a matrix LED display that flashes several messages and pictograms. The inside consists of a 2.4-inch QVGA display, a dual-band GSM radio, Bluetooth 2.1, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a microUSB charging port, a microSD slot that can hold up to 16GB, and a 2 megapixel camera. We’re hoping the price will be consistent with the features this phone carries, by the way, it will release in the first half of the year in gray, red, and some weird color called “thistle.” Read the full PR after the break.

HTC Thunderbolt Confirmed To Have Simultaneous Voice And Data

Initial specs showed us that the Thunderbolt would have both hotspot functionality and simultaneous voice and data. Then we heard reports that it would have neither feature at launch, but it would have the icons as placeholders. This document, leaked from Engadget (Thanks guys) proves that the Thunderbolt will have both these awesome features. It will be the first phone on Verizon, not sure about iPhone, that will have simultaneous voice and data. The hotspot functionality will be very nice for those of us who want to use that 4G lightning speed on…..say…..Xbox Live!
