Geek Blu Review: Ted
Last Updated on Wednesday, 12 December 2012 05:28 Written by LoganDX Wednesday, 12 December 2012 05:28

Does Seth MacFarlane smell like a filthy hobo? You have to wonder when he has time to take care of basic human needs like eat, sleep, bathe when he has so much on his plate. He has Family Guy (Yay!), American Dad! (also a solid yay) and The Cleveland Show (not so much a yay) running Sundays on Fox. We know he has a side gig doing some signing, he has to actually do work to get these shows on the air and there’s whichever celebrity roast he’s emcee of. So with such a fairly packed schedule, how does he go about staying fresh smelling while busting out Ted?
While we ponder that, let’s dive into Ted. Save the suspense as I named it my “Comedy of 2012″! I never laughed so hard at a movie since possibly the first Jackass. The basic premise is that Mark Wahlberg‘s character, John Bennett, was so unlikable as a kid he had to wish for a BFF. His parents wrapped up ole Ted for his Christmas gift and a new love was born. John made that faithful wish during the falling of a star, next day Ted was a living, breathing bear (stuffed).
Ted gets a blast of celebrity once his secret is out, hell the fuzzy fellow gets to meet Johnny Carson! As with all quickly famous entities, Ted becomes a somewhat forgotten relic but, as the narrator says, he never leaves John’s side. Flash forward to the present day and the two are still inseparable. Instead of playing such quaint games like Cowboys and Indians or Candyland, these boys while away their time playing “Which reefer is this?” and “Who ate all the Funyon’s?” The real tragedy of the situation is John dating Lori, played by the #1 pick in the lesbian fantasy league, Mila Kunis.
Lori accepts John’s somewhat boyish nature but events force her to convince John to push Ted into his own place. The separation between “Thunder Buddies” test the relationships between all three and in ways we may not have seen coming. Oh and Giovanni Ribisi plays the best creepy stalker ever! But who does he stalk, eh?

Family Guy’s “Road to the Multiverse” becoming a full on game!
Last Updated on Tuesday, 8 May 2012 06:23 Written by LoganDX Tuesday, 8 May 2012 11:00
Say what you will about Family Guy but it has some pretty damn funny moments. One of the better, possibly best, episodes is becoming its own game courtesy of Activision. Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse sends Brian and Stewie back on another dimension hoping adventure across how many realms to meet who knows who. Vague? Sure, but come on, it’s an Amazon leak just confirmed by Activision – details are going to be scare. The best anyone could get from executive VP David Oxford is this:
“Fans of Family Guy will love that we’ve taken some of the series’ most iconic and memorable moments and built them into an impressive and uncensored video game. Anyone who watches the show will appreciate how much we have adhered to its rich and twisted universe and characters.”
Don’t remember “Road to the Multiverse“? Shame on you! The hilarious episode started off with evil genius (also light in the loafers) Stewie taking family dog Brian on a trip to an alternate dimension where Stewie had swiped a mutated pig to win a blue ribbon. As the case with all inter-dimensional travel, things go awry quickly and the duo find themselves hopping through world after world trying to get back home. Mishaps, mistaken identities, Stewie on a leash, Meg ends up hot and more disasters set the hapless pair back in their quest to find home. There’s a reason it’s one of the most popular episodes in the show’s 10 years.

Quahog’s moustache aficionado got his spin-off and headed back home to Stoolbend, Va. He married his high school sweetheart and assimilated the two families into an animated Brady Bunch. So sets up another wacky series from the maniacal mind behind Family Guy and American Dad, Seth MacFarlane. As usual, the series is as off beat and irreverent as can be with crazy situations and wild special guests.
Already approaching its third season, The Cleveland Show will be bowing its second season on dvd September 27th and chock full of bonus features like uncensored never before seen footage, deleted scenes, featurettes, and commentaries. All of that plus the full 22 episode season packed into the box set makes for some fun times. The set will release with a suggested price of $29.99.

Its about that time folks, the latest and last Star Wars parody by Seth McFarlane is about to hit the shelves. Family Guy: It’s a Trap will be available for DVD/BluRay and digital download on Tuesday December 21st. As just mentioned, this will be the last full Star Wars episode as MacFarlane stated that he will not make any of the “prequels” for Episodes 1-3. As the previous films, It’s a Trap will follow along the lines of Return of the Jedi with of course nonsense that makes the parodies hilarious and fun to follow. The feature will be an hour long and will have some bonus content as usual discs have. Read more: Family Guy “It’s a Trap” Coming to Discs on Dec 21st
