Sick of cash back rewards? Grab the Zynga card for Farmville rewards then!
Last Updated on Tuesday, 22 May 2012 07:17 Written by LoganDX Tuesday, 22 May 2012 07:00
I hear it all the time, “Why does my credit\debit card shackle me with these ridiculous cash back offers? I just want freebies for my farm!” Ok, I’m lying – I never hear that. I’m absolutely convinced no one has either, which makes the recent announcement from Zynga just a tad bit odd. They have joined forces with Serve, a pre-paid American Express company, to deliver Zynga Serve Rewards to Farmvillians worldwide.
“We’re excited to partner with American Express to invent new ways for people to experience Zynga play in more parts of their day,” said Mark Pincus CEO and Founder of Zynga. “Together we can add surprise and delight to every day shopping.”
The process is slightly simple: first, you have to “plant” the Serve Money Tree inside your Farmville game from the Marketplace. Play with the tree to get the option to sign up, clicking sends you over to the Serve website. Sign up for one the Zynga cards and then wait for it to show up. Once it does, activate the card, fund it and then go shopping! There’s quite a few ways to earn Farmville cash, like signing up, shopping, etc. The downside to the promotion is Serve tacks on fees for things like adding funds to the card, 2.9% of the amount funded. Plus the promotion is only scheduled to run until the end of July.
Might be easier to just go out and buy some pre-paid Farmville cards. Hit the break to check out the press release…

I’m A Gamer And A Girl
Last Updated on Friday, 30 March 2012 04:33 Written by Laddie13 Friday, 30 March 2012 04:33
It’s kind of crazy the things you hear people say in online gaming. If I didn’t know better I would think most gamers are racist, homophobic or sexist, in reality I think the problem is immaturity. My actual name is Laddie and generally I use the name Laddie13 for online and gaming purposes. This is confusing due to the fact that I’m a girl. Once I’m found out I often get either guys hitting on me or insults because some guys think girls only play the Wii or casual games like FarmVille. The latter is usually due to the fact that I am playing better than they are. If I’m playing something like free for all with a random group I won’t even turn the mic on. You would think no one would even know I’m a girl but that’s not always the case because on several occasions I’m referred to as Lady13.
I like to say that I was born with a controller in my hand and since I started at a very young age it’s not that much of an exaggeration. I consider myself a hardcore gamer, the fact that I’m female shouldn’t be an issue but often it is. It’s not all bad though, I’ve received just as much if not more respect and admiration from guys that think there’s nothing cooler than a girl gamer. None of my female friends are gamers so I get it, gaming is a predominantly male past time. However when I go into GameStop to buy a FPS, please don’t insult me and ask if I’m picking it up for my boyfriend. Read more: I’m A Gamer And A Girl

Zynga almost got their Farmclaws on OMGPop founder before.
Last Updated on Wednesday, 28 March 2012 05:00 Written by LoganDX Wednesday, 28 March 2012 01:00
Care for a case of irony? It seems that four years ago Charles Forman, founder the latest supernova sensation OMGPop, was approached by Farmville creators Zynga with a job. Instead of hanging out with them and prompting friends to tend his crops, he decided to leave the business for greener pastures. Wonder what he would have helped create if he had hopped on over? Alas we shall never know.
When Zynga gobbled up OMGPop recently, Forman’s shares with the mobile developer skyrocketed him into an estimated worth of $22 million. So what does he plan on doing with all that mad loot? Help other startups get their footing of course! Mad props for him.

So the next Indiana Jones game is a Facebook game??
Last Updated on Tuesday, 29 November 2011 06:51 Written by LoganDX Tuesday, 29 November 2011 07:52
You read that right my faithful geeks, Indiana Jones will make his next stop at Facebook as part of the revamped (in a way) Adventure World. Dubbed Indiana Jones Adventure World, players will create, if they haven’t already, a friendly avatar to go adventuring and collect trinkets and such. What it is, is a Zynga game, the Farmville makers, using the pay\wait to play business model and tossing in one of geekdom’s most beloved silver screen heroes. Indy won’t even be playable, he’s been demoted to non-playable buddy.
The two most horrible things about this? The most obvious is the fact that LucasFilm and Paramount actually signed off on this. We all know George Lucas will whore out the Star Wars franchise for another plaid shirt but did Spielberg agree to this? The worst part? This little mess of a game will be considered canon, as in it’s an official part of Indy’s story! *EXPLETIVE DELETED* Look guys, Crystal Skull wasn’t the greatest but this? This is how you plan to turn it around? They even get the theme? Not cool, not cool at all! After the jump, you geeks can read the source story and decide for yourselves but I’m one unhappy geek!
