In which I review two of my favorite books of the past couple weeks: Fatale #1, the new “horror noir” from the Eisner award-winning team behind Criminal and Incognito: Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips; and The Punisher #7, by not-frequent-enough collaborators Greg Rucka and Michael Lark.

Comic Book Fix Wed: Ten Most Anticipated Comics of 2012

The year is almost over, and it was a good one for the comic book industry. Despite some ups and downs, and the continuing debate over digital vs. print comics, there were a number of amazing comics released in 2011 (some of which I detailed in my “Best of” list), both indie and mainstream, action and romance, crime and humor. There was something for everyone in 2011.
But now it’s time to put all that in the rear view mirror and turn our attention to the new year. Even if the world ends in 2012, it’s not supposed to happen until December, so we’ll still get some great comics before we all go poof. After the jump, take a look at some of the comics I’m most looking forward to next year.

Comic Book Fix Wed: NYCC Round-Up and the Best Batman Game Ever

Comic book fans crammed into the Javits Center in record numbers this past weekend for the New York Comic-Con, which was held over four days, October 13-16. Now in its fifth year, the NYCC has grown to rival the San Diego Comic-Con if not in size than certainly in scope, as publishers used the last major convention of 2011 to announce a plethora of new books, new creative teams and new directions.
