The First Star Wars Film Is Announced To Go 3-D, But Which One and When??

With the 3-D movie phenomenon gaining steam this year, I ask you to think of any film (newer or older) that you would love to see in 3-D.  Indiana Jones Trilogy (no Crystal Skull), the original Jaws, Inception, 300, or any of the Lord of The Rings films came to my mind.  One of the films that I didn’t mention has a special place in my dark heart.  That film is Star Wars.  Reports came down in late September 2010 that the Lucasfilm LTD. would be releasing the films in 3-D.  Yesterday, the news became more of a reality due to Lucasfilm LTD. and Twentieth Century Fox announcing that the first episode would be re-released in theatres on February 10, 2012, shorter than 1 year away.  That film is, wait for it……The Phantom Menace, Episode 1.  The official Press Release stated, “Supervised by Industrial Light & Magic, the meticulous conversion is being done with utmost respect for the source material, and with a keen eye for both technological considerations and artistic intentions.” Follow the break for more information.
