Apple cross examined by judge: “Are you smoking crack?”

Judge Lucy Koh has been making waves for the way she’s handled the Apple v Samsung patent case. Plenty of internet analysts have accused her of being on Apple’s payroll, hating Android, got a mad hurt on for Samsung, etc. After her latest display of judicial might, one might begin to wonder if she hates both parties.

Apple presented to the judge a whopping 75 page brief detailing over 22 witnesses they *could* call for rebuttal for any of Samsung’s case. Her Honor gave Apple a verbal thrashing, ending with the soon to be a meme comment - ”unless you’re smoking crack you know these witnesses aren’t going to be called!” Apple’s attorney denied the use of crack with a well thought out lawyer type comment - ”First, your honor, I’m not smoking crack. I can promise you that.” The legal team then promised to cut down the list to a more time responsible length.

As both parties continued to bicker back and forth, Judge Koh lost her temper once more - ”I’m billing time because you all are being unreasonable”. Both Apple and Samsung will lose precious time in front of the jury arguing their case because the judge was tired of the back and forth. You would think both would tone it down, if they want to win that is.

Sorry T-Moble geeks, you might not get that Galaxy S III as soon as you thought!

Seems like the desire for Samsung’s upcoming superphone, the Galaxy S III, might be more than T-Mobile can handle. The carrier has decided to split up their launch to accommodate the tech thirsty throngs. Instead of a full fledged kick off this Thursday, T-Mob will open up the buy lines in 29 markets as well as sliding a limited stock of the device up on T-Mobile.com.

Six days later, the rest of the retail locations are expected to start selling the Galaxy S III, hopefully more will also be up on the website then too. Full, off contract price of the phone will be a hefty $629.99. Prices come down after that, $229.99 after mail-in rebate and depending on plan. Not the price most were looking for, especially with AT&T charging $199.99 upfront.

Hit the break to find out if you happen to live in one of the 29 markets lucky enough for launch…

Rumor: Galaxy S III debuting in February?

That is of course the rumor we’re hearing. One year after Samsung unveiled the uber-awesome Galaxy S II, Sammy is expected to show off the next-gen device at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Rumored to pack a quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 12 mega pixel camera, Android 4.0, and a giant 1280 x 720 Super AMOLED screen, it would be a beast of a mobile sensation. Of course, every bit if this is a giant rumor cake covered with tasty tidbits.

One other rumor surfacing is that Sammy is floating the idea of adding some form of 3D to the phone. The company might want to set their device apart from the rest of the phones out there and if they pull it off, it might work. Or it might burn out spectacularly. Either way it should be a fun ride. And no, that’s not the phone. Merely a mock-up making its way around the web. Does look pretty though, doesn’t it? Unless you’re a barista.

Urgent Update on Update on Samsung Epic 4G (OMG!)

Life (and Sprint) has clearly shown me that you can never know what is going to happen, even if you ask. After being told that the Samsung Epic 4G is being left out of the Android Gingerbread update that the other Galaxy S phones received by a person “in the know” at Sprint and a contact at Samsung, guess who’s getting a surprise update today?

As of 11/9/11, Sprint has announced that the operating system build, EI22, containing Android 2.3.5, will begin loading over the network, and all lines will have been fed the package within 2 weeks. It is unknown if individuals who manually updated to “official” unreleased ROMs will see a proper upgrade path, so I will see if my EH17 ROM is able do download it and get right back to you if it does.  More after the break… Read more: Urgent Update on Update on Samsung Epic 4G (OMG!)
