Sony Steps In To Help Bethesda With Dawnguard
Last Updated on Tuesday, 11 September 2012 01:40 Written by Laddie13 Tuesday, 11 September 2012 03:00
Skyrim has had a rocky relationship with PS3 users from its initial buggy release on Sony’s system. A few patches later and things were seemingly getting better between Bethesda and PS3 Skyrim fans. In a bad move Bethesda decided to give Microsoft a timed exclusive on all Skyrim DLC further complicating Bethesda/PS3 user relations. Skyrim’s first DLC Dawnguard was released to Xbox Live in June and then PC in August with no indication of when it would hit the PSN. Bethesda initially took to the silent treatment when asked about Dawnguard coming to the PS3 before admitting there was a problem converting Dawnguard to Sony’s PS3.

The Beginning Of The End- GameStop Starts pulling PS2′s from Shelves
Last Updated on Thursday, 6 September 2012 08:59 Written by Laddie13 Wednesday, 5 September 2012 12:00
GameStop stores will begin removing PS2 hardware to make room on their shelves for upcoming new consoles like Wii U. The company is not doing away with all PS2′s immediately but will begin removing them from both coasts of the US where newer technology fares better. Smaller stores that lack room and places where last gen consoles don’t sell so well will also begin removing the nearly 12-year-old console.
The Playstation 2 launched in late 2000 and has to this day been Sony’s biggest success in the console industry. In fact after selling over 154.4 million consoles to date the PS2 is the best-selling console of all time. Twelve years later the PS2 is still a staple in many gamers setup including my own. Sony promised to deliver a minimum of 10 year cycle for their consoles and doing so has still remained profitable even amongst the current generation giants like it’s younger brother the PS3 and the king of consoles Microsoft’s 360.
The PS2 not only set the console world on fire it has one of the most diverse and extensive game libraries any generation has seen. I still have my launch PS2 but more than that I had the privilege of growing up gamer on one of the most innovated consoles that has surely changed gaming forever. GameStop can remove you from the shelves but they will never remove the lasting impact you have had. Cheers to you old friend!

Geeky Review: Munitio Billets 9MM Earphones
Last Updated on Monday, 30 July 2012 12:01 Written by Laddie13 Monday, 30 July 2012 12:01
A few weeks ago I was looking for a decent set of earbuds to enhance my gaming experience on Playstation Vita as well as replace my standard issue earbuds that came with my iPod touch. I wanted something reasonable priced but of a good quality. I had been leaning towards Turtle Beach‘s Ear force M1 but the $60 price tag was slightly more than I wanted to pay. I had seen the Munitio 9mm Call Of Duty MW3 Billets at various places and thought they looked great but did I want to pay $50 (the cost my local GameStop was selling them for at the time) on a brand I knew little about. It came to my attention that BestBuy had them on sale or clearance for $19.99. None of the stores in my area had any in stock but you could still order them online.
They arrived in a cool MW3 box and came with a carrying case, three sizes of earbud covers in two different colors and two earhooks. The earbuds themselves look like bullets and the MW3 logo isn’t all that prominent for those of you who aren’t fans of the series. They feature an in-line mic great for the Vita or handsfree calling if you are using them with your smart phone. They are designed quite well, the earbud or bullet part is made of a lightweight aircraft-grade aluminum with rubber cables that are Kevlar reinforced. Sure they look great but I was more interested in finding out if they performed well.
Munitio suggests that the Billets will need a period of breaking in to achieve optimal sound. Out of the box I tried them with Resistance Burning Skies on the Vita, I was pleasantly surprised. I could hear which direction footsteps were coming from and gunshots sounded better through these than anything else I had used previously. Next I tried them with my iPod touch and with various types of music. I’m not quite as impressed with them for Music but the Munitio’s still performed better than any of the other earbud types I’ve used in the past. They favor the bass sounds which tends to drown out some of the other aspects of the songs. They work well for hip hop or dub step and it’s not like they are promoting these to audiophiles.
