Get 21x XP on Gears 2′s 4th of July weekend

Alright you Gears fans out there…not only do you get to blow stuff in up in real life on the 4th but you are going to get 21x XP when doing it on the Gears of War 2 weekend. It has started already and will run until 9AM EDT on July 5th.
They also threw in a few more tweaks to add to the festivities. 4-Times the ammunition for the Hammer of Dawn, as well as the mortar, so if you are running short on fireworks you can go make your own at least in the virtual world against some locusts right?

Gears of War 3 Pushed Back?

Ok “Gear Heads”, get your kleenex box ready. Big gamers have eagerly been waiting for the next story in the Gears of War franchise. However, we may be waiting a little while longer. Both Microsoft and “GOW” creator studio, Epic Studios, have stated that Gears of War 3 will be released sometime in the “Fall of 2011.” This comes as a somewhat surprise due to reports stated it would be released Spring of 2011.
Reasons for the delay, you bet. With the release of Halo: Reach, it seems to be that Microsoft wants a specific title to be their main focus each physical year. This would of course mean sales, advertising and marketing of big release games. Looks like GOW3 will be their main focus for 2011. Also what else comes around Fall 2011, that is the start of the holiday shopping season, pretty smart.
I can already hear the cries out there, I hear ya. I have been a big fan of this franchise and look forward to this title. Guess we all have to wait a little while longer. Check out the video below to try and tide yourself over for now.
