My Favorite Games Of 2012: The Final Installment
Last Updated on Friday, 4 January 2013 04:58 Written by Laddie13 Friday, 4 January 2013 04:58

I have been having a tough time narrowing my favorite game of 2012 down to just one selection. It’s not that 2012 was particularly a great year in gaming but rather I have difficulty making decisions and sticking with them. Instead I’ve singled a few titles that in fact could at any given time be swapped out for my GOTY depending on my mood. Before we get to that I’d also like to mention a few other games I’ll call the runners-up.
First Call Of Duty Black Ops 2. I’m not ashamed. I’m a huge fan of the COD series and I have been from the start. Is it perfect, of course not but I’ve given up trying to figure what it is my fellow FPS fans want from the series. I enjoy the multiplayer and I’ll be playing it for months to come, probably right up until the new installment comes out. Treyarch did well tweaking MP while still giving us what made the games successful in the first place. In my opinion the best COD maps will always be the original Infinity Ward’s but since that is no longer an option Treyarch has proved itself with some of the better maps of the series.

‘Tis The Season, The Gaming Season That Is
Last Updated on Friday, 19 October 2012 05:32 Written by Laddie13 Friday, 19 October 2012 07:00
It’s that time of the year every gamer looks forward to, the blockbuster gaming season. Once summer starts to leave us we welcome the release of many games we have been looking forward to. Sure games are released on a weekly basis but traditionally the years biggest releases are held off in hopes of winning a spot in your holiday spending sprees and gift lists.
I will become fairly anti-social over the next few weeks and will dedicate every spare moment I have on playing video games. To free up some extra time for gaming I will deprive myself of sleep and stay home on Saturday nights. The gaming madness has already begun with Borderlands 2 and Dishonored. I’ve been playing the heck out of Borderlands 2, seriously it’s gaming crack which has forced me to place Dishonored on the back burner for now. Next up is Medal Of Honor Warfighter followed by Assassins Creed 3, Assassins Creed 3 Liberation, Halo 4 and Black Ops 2.
2012 has been an interesting year for me in games. Many of the early releases I was banking on to be favorites disappointed while a few gems I didn’t expect all that much from have snuck into my head and begged for attention. I’ve already starting compiling my best of the year list in my head and I have to say I don’t ever remember a PSN or Arcade title ever ending up as a contender for my game of the year. It’s also been a few years since a military shooter was in the running based solely on its unique storytelling. The dark horse contenders are Papo And Yo and Spec Ops The Line. Also in the running is Mass Effect 3 and The Darkness 2. Read more: ‘Tis The Season, The Gaming Season That Is

Bring on the Halo 4 Limited Edition Console!
Last Updated on Friday, 13 July 2012 05:49 Written by LoganDX Friday, 13 July 2012 05:49
Oh come on now, don’t tell me anyone was surprised at the notion of Microsoft readying a sexy new console to coincide with the release of Halo 4? Is it even fair to call what we know, what we’ve seen, as a leak when it was a foregone conclusion?
What we’re looking at for the Halo lover is a sexily designed console by 343 Industries, a 320GB beauty with Halo 4 inspired sound effects. A pair of equally awesome controllers will be packed in the box, alongside a standard copy of Halo 4 and the “Hey, it works” black Xbox Live headset. There’s also expected to be a healthy helping of DLC to make the experience all the more great. There should be avatar props, avatar armor, weapon skins, emblems and even some spiffy armor skins.
The console and controllers will be made out of a clearish plastic so wannabe Spartans can see inside as they play well into the midnight hours. The controllers will also sport blue LED lights and the semi-new rotating D-pad. The price point is looking to be at that $399 figure, which isn’t too bad considering you’re getting the game and bigger hard drive than the $299 version. Odd enough, there doesn’t seem to be a brand new Kinect sensor in the bundle. Oh well.
Keep your eyes tuned to Comic Con all weekend, the official announcement is expected then.

We run down our top picks from E3 2012
Last Updated on Wednesday, 13 June 2012 03:58 Written by JCWaitWat Wednesday, 13 June 2012 05:30
And so, as quickly as it came, E3 2012 is over, leaving us in cloud of awesome (and some less-than-awesome) video game news. Although this year had some fairly dull announcements (i.e. Internet Explorer on Xbox 360) there was a lot of promising footage for a number of games which I have seen very little of. For instance Microsoft’s ace card was of course the return of Masterchief in Halo 4. However the presentation of Halo 4 was marginalized by a very extensive (and rather dull) demo of Smart Glass.
So onto our top picks. These are just our own preferences, based on our own personal feelings and inner gamer tickles. Hit the break to grab what we loved and make sure to give us some insight as to what grabbed you by the eyeballs!
