Reports are swirling in that HTC is prepping a new version of its Max, this one dubbed the One M8 Max.
The One M8 Max is speculated to have a 5.5 inch screen with 2K resolution giving it a whopping 2560 x 1440 pixels. Underneath that sick display is rumored to be a nice chunk of RAM, 3GB, a Snapdragon 805 2.7GHz processor, powered by a 3,000mAh battery. The back side camera is alleged to be a massive 18 megapixel flasher with OIS.
The One M8 Max is scheduled to run the hotness of Android L, also rumored to be called Lemon Meringue Pie, and HTC Sense 6.5. I know I know, why mar a good thing with bloat but hey 6.5 could be pretty good. I know people who actually like Sense.
Itching to get your paws on the HTC One M8 Max? Well the rumor mill points to fourth quarter of this year for a launch date so you don’t have too long to wait.
Ok so we don’t really know what’s happening with the Nexus line with Android Silver just around the corner in 2015. There’s been no mention of a new Nexus handset and nothing official as far as a Nexus tablet. We do know that Android Police has just leaked out an image and specs of what’s being called the Nexus 9 Tablet, manufactured by HTC.
The tab, codenamed Volantis, is coming from a strong enough source that AP feels pretty confident in this one. The leaked specs call for a 8.9 inch 2048 x 1440 display at only .31 inches thick in an aluminum zero-gap construction. Tucked inside that tiny frame is 2GB of RAM, 16 to 32GB of storage, a NVIDIA Logan64-bit processor (Tegra K1), 8 megapixel back side camera with OIS, 3 megapixel front facing camera, Wi-Fi support and the possibility for LTE in an upgraded model.
Pricing allegedly puts the base 16GB model at $399 with the 32GB version going for $499. The LTE model is rumored to be a $600+ premium set up but with all info anything can change. The Nexus 9 a.k.a. Volantis is expected to ship alongside Android L in Q4 2014. Don’t look for this bad boy anytime soon.
Well geeks, have you been looking for another HTC made Nexus device? Were you expecting a Nexus Handset instead? Personally I have yet to grab onto a Nexus device, I’ve been a Samsung guy since my first Captivate. I almost bought a Nexus 5 before I got my Galaxy S4, almost. What are you guys rocking in the device region?
