New GTA V Screen Shots & Is Red Dead Redemption 2 In The Works?

During the Asked & Answered session hosted by Rockstar, where fans could ask questions on a number of things ranging from Max Payne 3 updates to Grand Theft Auto, they released a number of new screen shots for GTA V as well as alluded to the possibility of a sequel to the Western shooter Red Dead Redemption. One user asked the question “Why don’t you give us more news [on GTA V]?” to which Rockstar replied:

As we have said before, we have often had long gaps between asset releases on previous games and will continue to do so in the future. We are sorry if you find this frustrating, but please understand, we don’t do this because we ‘don’t care about our fans’ ‘don’t respect our fans’ ‘hate GTA fans etc’ – precisely the opposite! We do it because we want to make sure we only release 100% correct information, and because we want to keep plenty back for the actual game release so there are still lots of surprises when you play it. The only things we care about are that you enjoy the experience of actually playing the game and that we release accurate information. We just have not been in a position to show more of the game than the trailer and will not be for a while yet. We did, however, manage to sneak a quick screenshot out for you… it’s not much, but we thought it was pretty fun.

Hit the break for the screen shots and the possibility of a Red Dead Redemption sequel.

Black Friday ad roundup: GameStop

Time to slow down on the Black Friday ad train and bring you one that is very lacking on the deals, especially where games are concerned. GameStop’s ad is not going to completely compete with the mega retailers like Best Buy or Wal-Mart. They will have a bare bones 4GB Xbox 360 S for $149, bare bones meaning system and controller only. For $50 more, you can go elsewhere and get one with games and a bigger hard drive. They’ll have the 160GB PS3 with Little Big Planet 2 and Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One for $199. They have some games like Duke Nukem Forever and Medal of Honor for $9.99 but there isn’t much here to blow smoke up your skirts. $15 PS3 Greatest Hits, $19 L.A. Noire? Been done as just regular sale items.

Full on, in your face on the front page of the ad is the Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Edition 3DS for $199! No guessing or squinting here, they claim they’ll have it. Big deal as no announcement for it hitting our shores was ever made. They have a trade in deal where you can get it for $99 if you give them your old DSi Xl. GameStop is featuring more Nintendo items in their ad versus the other guys so far. If you’re desperate to trade in some stuff and maybe get that Zelda 3DS, GS may be the stop for you. Otherwise I’d stay away. Hit the source link after the jump and decide for yourselves.

Epic Is Giving Gears Of War 3 Its Own Season Pass.

Taking a cue from Rockstar and L.A. Noire, Epic will offer a season Pass on DLC for Gears of War 3. For $30 or 2400 Microsoft Points, gamers can lock in a 33% discount on the next four add-ons over the next year. The first pack is scheduled to drop in November but any other details are as of yet unknown. Also included in the Pass will be an exclusive Liquid Metal Weapon set, more than likely only for multiplayer games. The Pass will be available for purchase alongside Gears 3 on launch day, September 2oth.

These types of passes are becoming more and more popular as gamers can prepay for the DLC when they have the extra points and not worry about it later. It also gives the developers plenty more incentive to keep churning out the map packs. Hopefully they don’t get lazy and start producing substandard content just to say they released something for the pass. What say you geeks? Yay or nay? Hit the jump, read the press release and give us your two cents.

Rockstar And Team Bondi Get A Divorce.

For the last few weeks, we’ve been hearing that the relationship between Rockstar Games and Team Bondi has been sliding into the abyss. Team Bondi has been on the hot seat for the revelations that working there is harsher than employment on the Death Star. The accusations stem from 110 hour work weeks, credit not being properly given, aggressive management, and one angry boss in the form of founder Brendan McNamara.

McNamara saw Rockstar as interfering and even felt they mistreated Team Bondi over a logo redesign for L.A. Noire. The founder email bombed the entire staff at the development studio his rage over it, instead of just sending it to the intended recipient, production designer Simon Wood. Of course, he also claimed that the working conditions at the developer were not unfair.
