50Cent couldn’t keep out of the game, with the success Dr. Dre had with his partnership with Monster Cable on the Beats headphones. Mr. 50, or Fiddy to pay respect, has formed his own company, SMS by 50, which purchased Kono Audio to start this new brand, and in all honesty, the specs on the initial headset seem to match closely with the $350 starter set from Beats, with high-quality drivers, sound isolation (or noise cancellation), and an over-all high-quality build, but they beat Beats on the fact that they are also dedicated circuit wireless and packed with rechargeable batteries.
No clue what they sound like, but given the competition (and, yes, Beats sound awesome, even for a progressive rock listener like me!) expect these guys to kick ass! Absolutely no clue who’s going to carry them or how much they will cost, as technically all we are seeing so far is production prototypes. No word yet on whether Microsoft or Ford will let him rip off their joint feature name. Read more: 50Cent Joins the Headphone Market with SYNC
