Celebrate 20 years of Wolfenstein 3D, play it for free in your browser!

Wolfenstein 3D, the one that started it all, is now 20 years old and Bethesda is celebrating by putting the original game in a free to play browser game as a gift for nostalgic gamers. Available either through a link on the Wolfenstein Facebook page or directly at the game page, those old enough to remember a world before annual Call of Duty games can chase down the Nazi scum as O.G. bad ass, B.J. Blazkowicz! Find the secrets the castle is hiding, scrounge for ammo and try to not let that mug get bloodied up too much.
Fans of the franchise equipped with an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch can download the Wolfenstein 3D Classic Platinum version for free! I suggest grabbing it if you can as it looks so much smoother than the original, browsered version. You will have to use the touchscreen controls but you geeks should be pros at that by now! How high is your nostalgia factor right now? Hit, hit, hit those comments and spill your favorite Wolfenstein memories!

Kid Icarus 1987
This week in Retro Sunday we look back at another great Nintendo game from the vault. Kid Icarus was a difficult game that many people played over and over again due to its great replay value. The story line behind this game was that you played Pit, a young angel trapped in the Underworld. As Pit, you are the last hope of Angel Land. Palutena, the goddess of light. Palutena transformed Medusa into a hideous beast because Medusa despised humans. Palutena banished Medusa but Medusa did not want to go quietly. She rallied evil monsters to her cause and they attacked Palutena at her home. Palutena was overpowered and captured by the minions of Medusa. However, Palutena was able to send a bow to Pit and entrust him to fight his way out of the Underworld, retrieve a secret treasure that would help him to defeat Medusa and free Palutena. This game incorporates many of the move, jump and action combinations used in Super Mario Bros and Metroid.
