If you’re an industrious geek like we are then you probably have Dropbox to sync your files. If you’re not then what are you waiting for? It’s handy to share files between friends, colleagues or just to save important bits in the cloud. You can get a free account that doles out a starter space of 2GB, perfect for pics and docs. If you’re of the testing type, you can download the beta from Dropbox that has you testing their experimental camera upload feature. Do that and the powers behind the ‘Box will reward you with extra storage, up to 5GB extra!

It’s a pretty straightforward affair, download the apk from the website here, install it onto your phone and enable instant uploads. The beta will make a folder named “Camera Uploads” and will instantly upload pics from your camera. Doing that will grant you a quick 500MB and each photo you take and let the beta upload will grant you another 500MB. Keep going and you’ll have an extra 5GB in no time! Keep in mind this is not on top of the 5GB they’re offering for geeks who run the experimental desktop beta, they share the same pool of free space upgrade.

If you pop into the forums, you’ll note some people are having problems. Either they’re not getting the bump up in space or other problems are occurring. The various members are quick to try to help each other out. If you do try it out, remember you are running experimental software and might run into some odd things. It seems pretty worth it tough to swipe up some extra space for those “art” photos you took last weekend!
