Square Enix releases new Final Fantasy XIII-2 DLC, “Lightning and Master Sergeant Amodar”.
Last Updated on Tuesday, 7 February 2012 01:15 Written by LoganDX Tuesday, 7 February 2012 03:00
Already blazed through the past, present and future of Gran Pulse and Cocoon? Collected all those Artefacts, weapons and monsters? Still want to play around with Serah, Noel and the gang? Don’t fret because Square Enix has you covered with the new DLC appropriately titled “Lightning and Master Sergeant Amodar”. Head off to the Coliseum and confront Lightning and her old commanding officer in a battle royale. Taking sibling rivalry to the extreme, Serah and Noel must knock the duo down using their combined might. Doing so will add Lightning and Amodar to your party!
Square Enix also dropped hints on future DLC plans for the game. Vague hints actually. Here, let them say it themselves:
Additional episodes which enhance the experience and complement the narrative of FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 with storyline branches for key characters in the story will be revealed at a later date.
While you’re waiting to find out what that means, go grab that DLC from the Xbox Live Marketplace or the PS Store. Square Enix says the content is available now but a scan of the XBLM only shows a weapon for Serah. I’d say give it a bit or wait until tomorrow. Hit the break and check out some screen shots from the new DLC.

PSN problems? Don’t worry, just routine maintenance.
Last Updated on Thursday, 19 January 2012 03:23 Written by LoganDX Thursday, 19 January 2012 03:23
Been having problems hoping onto some your usual PSN features? Nothing nefarious going on here, Sony is simply doing that vague “routine scheduled maintenance” today. It started about 11 a.m. Eastern Time and is expected to cause headaches until sometime around midnight Eastern. What exactly is on the fritz? The PS Store, Account Management, New Account Registration, PlayStation Home and the Unlimited Music\Video services. For those curious, it goes for PS3 and PSP.
You can still collect trophies and play games, trophies will sync up once the network is fully running. Some will still be able to keep on keepin’ on bashing friends skulls in but once they pop off, chances are they won’t be able to log back in. Hey at least they’re actually telling us what’s going on, right? It’s just a day, we can deal with it. Just don’t make it any longer!

PS3 Users To Get New 3.7 Firmware Update.
Last Updated on Wednesday, 10 August 2011 05:45 Written by LoganDX Wednesday, 10 August 2011 05:00
It’s been a while but Sony is issuing a new firmware update to the PS3. Numbered 3.7, this update will enhance the system with some cloud based saves and automatic trophy syncs. Enabled either in the XMB or the first time a game is booted is up, the feature will allow players to save their game automatically online to be picked up again on another machine at a later date. Trophys will now auto-sync online instead of waiting for gamers to maunally sync them with Sony’s servers. What could be the downside to this? Maybe the fact only members of PlayStation Plus get access to them. Yep, pretty lame indeed.
For us lesser beings, the update will grant us a new “TV/Video Services” spot on the XMB where services like Netflix and Hulu will now reside. Don’t confuse this with the Video slot which is where any videos purchased in the PS Store will hide. The PS Store will also get a recomendation feature, allowing gamers to tell friends about content they like in the Store. The console will also be getting some upgrades to the 3D playback capabilities of Blu-rays.

Happy Birthday Playstation Plus! Now What’s Our Gift?
Last Updated on Thursday, 30 June 2011 05:06 Written by LoganDX Thursday, 30 June 2011 02:00
PlayStation Plus is a year old now and the service is ready to party like it’s 2011. As is the current trend, we the gamers will be reaping the benefits for the celebration. There is a caveat though, to get the prize you have to plunk down some cash first. If you buy yourself a 3 month package for $17.99, you’ll snag yourself a free month of service. Want a bigger prize? Buy a full year of Plus for $49.99 and walk away with a whole 3 months free.
Granted it’s not much of a freebie but it is a nice gesture. I’m sure quite a few PS3 users took advantage of the free month Sony offered due to the infamous outage, so this is a good way to extend those extras at a lowered cost. Besides, you’ll get all those neat features like free DLC, free (as long as you subscribe) games, premium themes, avatars and the like. Any geeks proper paying members of the service? If not, is this enough t entice you pay? Hit the jump and let us know in the comments.
