Deadpool Wages War on SDCC 2012 [VIDEO]

Deep down we all want to be super heroes, and where better to indulge your dreams than San Diego’s Comic Con. Comic Con has through its doors some of the most ridiculous looking visitors, ranging from Lord Vader to Mech warriors. Given the wealth of super hero movies that we have had lately there was no shortage of Capitan Americas, Thors and Black Widows. However one Marvel superhero, who has only had a brief spell on the big screen, took to the streets of San Diego and documented his visit to Comic Con.

After the mere idea of a reboot\remake, the most contentious part is picking out who will fill the shoes of a past iconic character. How many forum postings, blog entries, school yard fights alone do think Nolan’s Batman generated? Fans of the originals are devoted and understandably don’t want their faves mucked with, especially with the state of some remakes out there **cough** any 80′s horror remake **cough**.
When word broke that a Highlander remake was in the works, many of us questioned exactly who could fill Christoper Lambert’s shoes as immortal Connor MacLeod. We knew Lambert was done and not an option, well unless they did that creepy CGI thing like Disney did with Jeff Bridges for Tron. What hot, young star would have the capable acting chops to swing katanas at fools and suck up some quickening? Who movie gods, who? That up in the air feeling is over, the production team has settled on Mr. Deadpool, Hal Jordan himself – Ryan Reynolds!
Now pump the brakes haters, Reynolds has shown he can handle action roles with plenty of gusto, just look at Safe House if you don’t believe me. Add that to his mastery of the sarcasm arts, Conner had plenty of snarky lines in the franchise, and you have plenty of elements in place for a sweet remake. If they can dial in a solid story, we may have one of the few good cinematic remakes.

Deadpool Creator Blasts Fox on Twitter

You have always got to love Hollywood drama. A lot of us comic book geeks, have been drooling at the chance to see a Deadpool movie ever since the character was in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and was played by Ryan Reynolds. The script is supposedly already written by Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and is said to be filled with the sarcastic dark humor that embodies Deadpool. The only problem seems to be 20th Century Fox is dragging their feet, and the creator of Deadpool, Rob Liefeld, is not to happy about it.
Recently he has turned into a geeky Sarah Palin, with using his Twitter page as a soapbox for blasting 20th Century Fox.
