Will the Samsung Galaxy S4 pop up in March?
Last Updated on Thursday, 7 February 2013 04:26 Written by LoganDX Thursday, 7 February 2013 04:26
Well the rumor mill is churning about when we could see the next version of Samsung’s mega-hot Galaxy S series. With the latest model, the S3, racking up the sales charts and knocking around Apple’s iPhone 5, you’d think people would be more focused on the present instead of the future. Alas, that’s not the case.
Web rumors are pointing to Samsung prepping a new Unpacked event on March 15th, an event where they plan on showing off the Galaxy S4. The rumor stirrers could not comment on what the specs might be, the price or anything else even remotely important. The past says we should be ready for a March-ish Unpacked event and we should most definitely expect the S4 to be announced. Past events also point to the European chaps getting it first while us U.S. geeks wait until May or June.
Everything needs to be taken with the proverbial grain of salt as all we’ve read comes from the standard “anonymous” sources but hey, we can hope, right?

Apple isn’t done with Samsung just yet, adds Galaxy S III and Note to earlier Nexus complaint.
Last Updated on Monday, 3 September 2012 08:41 Written by LoganDX Monday, 3 September 2012 08:41
After the massive win against Samsung, Apple looks to slit the throat of Samsung. They added new devices to their earlier complaint against the Galaxy Nexus. A total of 21 devices have made their way into the amended complaint, devices ranging from the mid range Captivate Glide to the Galaxy Note to even the “built to avoid lawsuits” Galaxy S III. The full list from the complaint:
These infringing Samsung products include the at least 21 new smartphones, media players, and tablets that Samsung has released beginning in August 2011 and continuing through August 2012. Specifically, Samsung has imported into, offered for sale, or sold in the United States at least the following products, each of which infringes Apple’s patent rights: the Galaxy S III, Galaxy S III – Verizon, Galaxy Note, Galaxy S II Skyrocket, Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch, Galaxy S II, Galaxy S II – T-Mobile, Galaxy S II – AT&T, Galaxy Nexus, Illusion, Captivate Glide, Exhibit II 4G, Stratosphere, Transform Ultra, Admire, Conquer 4G, and Dart smartphones, the Galaxy Player 4.0 and Galaxy Player 5.0 media players, and the Galaxy Note 10.1, Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus and Galaxy Tab 8.9 tablets.
The devices are accused of infringing on four Apple patents: ’647 Data Detectors, ’721 Slide to Unlock, ’172 Word Completion and the ’604 Universal Search. The complaint was initially lodged back in February 2012 but the Cupertino company just added the versions of the Note and Galaxy S III. mostly because they’re selling like ice water in hell.
We’ll keep an eye on how Samsung handles this one, expect them to come out swinging though. What do you geeks think about all of this? Is Apple being a good company by claiming it’s “suffering irreparable harm” or just being a bully trying to eliminate competition? Hit those comments and let us hear it!

So the Sprintified version of Samsung’s Galaxy S III didn’t get the launch it was expecting, with the carrier lacking the supply to meet the demands of the eager customer. First the “Key 29″ markets were able to snag a phone and then some online sales slipped through but a nationwide launch was just beyond the grasp of House Hesse. Now the network has hammered down a final, concrete date for a real launch – July 1st. For $200, you can get a 16GB version in store or online while chipping in an extra $50 can net you folks a 32GB model online only.
Get ready Sprint geeks, your time is rapidly approaching! Any of you ready to get your Galaxy S III on? Hit the comments and sound off!

AT&T releases then sorta dereleases ICS update for Galaxy S II.
Last Updated on Thursday, 21 June 2012 07:35 Written by LoganDX Thursday, 21 June 2012 07:35
Been a bit of a fervor going on regarding the long awaited Ice Cream Sandwich update for AT&T’s Galaxy S II. Those of us who’ve been obsessively checking forums, blogs and Twitter thought the wait was finally over. The news hit hard and fast that Ma Bell had released the update for the masses. Pretty much instantly, geeks were either rejoicing or groaning. Why? Well because some were able to download ICS while others were denied faster than the chess club president asking the out prom queen.
There’s plenty of pics and vids floating over the net, showing the lucky geeks playing around but what about the rest of us? Oh just AT&T testing the update on the server before they “officially” release it to the masses. The full scale roll out is still scheduled but as usual the vague “soon” is the best we get.
Once ICS hits AT&T, this leaves only Sprint holding the bag to update their Epic 4G Touch. Which sucks for the folks on the Now Network, neither the carrier nor Sammy have let out any indication when they plan on pushing ICS out. Keep hope alive though guys, maybe wishes will come true!
