Halloween, the movie is the original in a horror series that spanned generations of viewers. Set in the town of Haddonfield, Illinois; this movie starts with young Michael Myers (Will Sandin) killing his sister and being sent to a psychiatrist to determine stability of mind. After eight years of therapy the psychiatrist determines that Michael is pure evil. On October 30, 1978; Michael was to be taken to court to be tried as an adult. Twenty year old Michael (Tony Moran) overcomes his guards and almost kills the driver. He escapes into the woods.
As he continues back to his hometown, Michael begins to stalk Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis). He follows her to Laurie’s friends house. Bent on carnage, Michael begins to go on a killing rampage. He targets Laurie’s friends and eventually tries to kill Laurie also. As the closing, Michael has trapped Laurie in a closet. She pokes him in the eye with a wire hanger, causing him to drop his knife. She grabs the knife and tries to cut Michael. Laurie drops the knife and tries to escape but only to have Michael grab her leg. At the moment the psychiatrist, Dr. Sam Loomis (Donald Pleasence), that was helping Michael shows up and shoots Michael six times knocking him out of the window. As Sam tells Laurie that it will all be okay, they check on Michaels body………except that it is not there!
This movie started it all, and brought the realm of horror into a new arena. Movies have not been the same since the scare factor and creeper factor were inserted into a movie. Check this great classic out on Netflix or see the updated version done by Rob Zombie in 2007.
Overall this movie, the original, gets a 9.3 out of 10.
