Google Voice just got a nice little update now allowing you to search through your voicemail transcripts and text messages. So far this has been a nice little add on and works very well as you can see from the pic above. A button has been added which replaced the settings option you once received when hitting menu.
Jump into the market and update now.

Google stops the free GOOG-411 service
Last Updated on Saturday, 9 October 2010 10:13 Written by The Geek Saturday, 9 October 2010 10:30
For all of you people out there that got comfortable not having to call 411 and using 1-800-GOOG-411 will have to get used to the $1.49-$1.99 charge from your carrier. Googles blog is saying that they will be pulling the product as of November 12th.
Why? Google is putting a lot behind the Google Voice features that are avaliable on Android and iPhone. Google’s blog has this to say.
Our success encouraged us to aim for more innovation. Thus, we’re putting all of our resources into speech-enabling the next generation of Google products and services across a multitude of languages.
It looks like the text based service will still live on however, sending that text to 466453 will enable you to pull limited information such as weather or phone numbers.
The real push out of this move is to get you to download the Google Voice Search application so get to downloading because in an era of smartphones who needs to call 411 anyways?

Gmail adds Priority Inbox

A few days ago Google and Gmail have released Priority Inbox for Gmail users. Google explains it as
Priority Inbox splits your inbox into three sections: “Important and unread,” “Starred” and “Everything else.” As messages come in, Gmail automatically flags some of them as important. Gmail uses a variety of signals to predict which messages are important, including the people you email most (if you email Bob a lot, a message from Bob is probably important) and which messages you open and reply to (these are likely more important than the ones you skip over). And as you use Gmail, it will get better at categorizing messages for you.
If you log into your Gmail and you see the option for new Priority Inbox then the feature has been installed for you. Check the video below for an idea of what all it will do for your messy inbox.
