You got your Mass Effect in my Final Fantasy! [VIDEO]

Ever wanted to ride a chocobo while showing off your elite N7 status? Well now you can! Square Enix just popped the top off of a collaboration between them and BioWare that serves up the Elite N7 armor worn by Commander Shepard in his quest to stop the Reapers. Built for both Noel and Serah, the new costume set floats into the cut scenes and gameplay like it was meant to be there. Looks quite fetching on the industrious time travelers.
Also mentioned in the release will be more opponents for the dashing duo to square off against in the Coliseum. Who or what they are is unknown right now but trust me, the secrecy won’t last long. The N7 DLC is scheduled to hit consoles on March 27th for a yet unannounced price. Come back soon for more details as we get them. After the break, check out some more screens plus watch a spoilerish video of the N7 armor in action. Watch it at your own discretion if you haven’t yet played or beaten it.

Romping through Gran Pulse – the Final Fantasy XIII-2 review.
Last Updated on Monday, 20 February 2012 07:44 Written by LoganDX Monday, 20 February 2012 07:44
It’s been three years since Cocoon almost plunged into the land of Gran Pulse below. Three years since the disaster was diverted by the unlikeliest of heroes, ones meant to facilitate the destruction. The fal’Cie have retreated from the affairs of humanity, the crystalized l’Cie are once again human. Serah, the unfortunate soul transformed into crystalline form and sister to tough as nails Lightning, joins them as flesh and blood. In the aftermath, some citizens of Cocoon decided to make a fresh start in the harsh, hostile land below of Gran Pulse.
Things are looking great on New Bodhum: the sky is shining, the birds are chirping. Life is tough but the residents find a true purpose in their everyday lives. Serah still hasn’t come to grips with the disappearance of Lighting, she swears her sister was with her and their friends after the fall of Cocoon. No one else remembers it, they believe she gave her life to save her home. Snow, Serah’s fiancée, has left on an adventure to search for the missing Lightning.
Late one night Serah is awoken from another dream involving her sister to chaos. Monsters have invaded her cozy sea-side home, monsters no one has ever seen before. In the fight, a mysterious character arrives to save her hide from the malicious evil-doers. Recognizing him from her dream with Lightning, she accepts his help and begins a journey throughout time to find her sister.
Thus we set off onto a true sequel of a Final Fantasy game. After 2010′s hit and miss Final Fantasy XIII, Square Enix went back to flesh out not only the story but fix some of the irritants fans had with the game. The question is, did they succeed? Did they fail miserably? Hit the break and let’s go to it! Worry not about spoilers, nothing here that hasn’t already been spilled in the hype up.

Square Enix releases new Final Fantasy XIII-2 DLC, “Lightning and Master Sergeant Amodar”.
Last Updated on Tuesday, 7 February 2012 01:15 Written by LoganDX Tuesday, 7 February 2012 03:00
Already blazed through the past, present and future of Gran Pulse and Cocoon? Collected all those Artefacts, weapons and monsters? Still want to play around with Serah, Noel and the gang? Don’t fret because Square Enix has you covered with the new DLC appropriately titled “Lightning and Master Sergeant Amodar”. Head off to the Coliseum and confront Lightning and her old commanding officer in a battle royale. Taking sibling rivalry to the extreme, Serah and Noel must knock the duo down using their combined might. Doing so will add Lightning and Amodar to your party!
Square Enix also dropped hints on future DLC plans for the game. Vague hints actually. Here, let them say it themselves:
Additional episodes which enhance the experience and complement the narrative of FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 with storyline branches for key characters in the story will be revealed at a later date.
While you’re waiting to find out what that means, go grab that DLC from the Xbox Live Marketplace or the PS Store. Square Enix says the content is available now but a scan of the XBLM only shows a weapon for Serah. I’d say give it a bit or wait until tomorrow. Hit the break and check out some screen shots from the new DLC.

Kupo, Kupo! Enjoy the new Moogle trailer for Final Fantasy XIII-2! [VIDEO]

Oh those adorable Moogles, always up to something! Whether it’s selling gear, casting spells or getting into stuff, they’re an omnipresent staple of the Final Fantasy series. Final Fantasy XIII-2 continues the long standing tradition of incorporating those furry buggers by giving Lightning‘s sister Serah one as a constant companion. Mog as he’s called, will help the battle out in many ways. He’ll transform into a weapon for Serah, activate the Mog Clock to help (or hinder) during battles or even act like a bloodhound searching for treasures. Toss him into hard to reach places, follow him to hidden goodies or have him peek into time to retrieve helpful artifacts. He ends up being a pretty versatile ball of fur!
Final Fantasy XIII-2 will release here in the states on January 31st for Xbox 360 and PS3. I’ll be ready, what about you?
