Myspace Making A Comeback Maybe
Last Updated on Tuesday, 15 January 2013 03:00 Written by Mr2pointO Tuesday, 15 January 2013 03:00
Remember Myspace? No, yeah? Fewer and fewer people do. Well it’s making a comeback again or at least trying to. Myspace’s main shareholder Justin Timberlake is featured front and center on the new Myspace logon screen. Which you can do so with your Facebook and Twitter logon’s.
The site has been completely redone and is far from the Myspace we had in high school, the site boasts free unlimited music and videos. Once logged in you’ll notice it’s a pretty metro layout with an odd side scrolling view rather than up or down. You can connect to different people and hitting the discover button will take you to what’s a pretty mainstream list of artist from Bieber to Adele. It’ll be interesting to see what comes about of the new Myspace.

If you like to access Siri without unlocking your iPhone from the pass code lock status you might fall victim to social network shenanigans. Siri on a iOS 6 device still let’s you update things like your Facebook or Twitter statuses without having to unlock the pass code. This could lead to potential embarrassing status updates by your prankster friends.
I’ve been on both sides of the social status updates pranking and it is one of the main reasons I lock my phone but fear not there is a way to stop the embarrassment before it happens. You can disable Siri from the pass code lock menu in settings however you will have to unlock your phone each time that you want to use Siri. I’d rather be inconvenienced by having to unlock my phone than embarrassed from my friend’s status bombing of my social networks! Facebook deleting cosplayer accounts, considered “misclassified”.
Last Updated on Tuesday, 21 August 2012 03:54 Written by LoganDX Tuesday, 21 August 2012 07:00
Remember a while back when Facebook realized they had a massive amount of fake, duplicate, misclassified and undesirable accounts, accounts that numbered right around 83 million? Yeah that’s a lot of used space and the social network has decided to start purging the system of all those wasted ad clicking opportunities. Unfortunately some profiles are being axed that are legitimate, ones that cosplayers use to showcase their passion.
Why cosplayer accounts? The simple reason is that is that the ones going bye-bye are naming their personal profile something along the lines of “John Q. Cosplay.” which makes it a misclassified account. It seems Facebook is just hitting the delete button on those accounts instead of doing any due diligence and checking if they’re legit, active accounts. Granted Facebook doesn’t have to as those profiles violate the terms of service but would it really hurt them to send a quick message to verify?
If you happen to have any such account, not just limited to the cosplayer world, your best bet is to make a fan page to highlight your chosen obsession. Not only do you get that valuable exposure but you also keep it safe. Any geeks out there find a vacant hole where their profile used to be? We’d love to hear from you, hit the break and sound off in the comments.
