Any of you geeks remember when Deep Silver asked for our input on what we’d like to see in a possible collector’s edition? The developer has finally sifted through all our wildest thoughts and has announced the Rigor Mortis Edition for Dead Island: Riptide!

Packed inside the lunchbox-that-looks-like-a-suitcase will a Zombie Hula girl (hopefully with stilted wiggly action), a severed hand bottle opener slash fridge magnet, your very own bungalow key with awesome wooden tag and an alternate box art for the game. Some digital extras will be included like unlockable content and a strategy map. Oh yeah and the game comes with it too!

Dead Island: Riptide, both regular and Rigor Mortis editions will launch for the Xbox 360, PC and PS3 on April 23rd. The Rigor Mortis Edition will retail for $79.99 versus the standard $59.99. Make your vacation plans now geeks!

Have your say in what the Dead Island Riptide Collector’s Edition might include!

As the popularity of collector’s editions of games has increased, some could argue the quality has gone down – with the price going up. Gorgeous art books have given way to digital comics, replicas have been replaced with multiplayer skins. Remember the Fable 3 CE? A deck of cards and a coin packed inside a faux book felt like a rushed affair. Attempting to put the collector back in the game, Dead Island Riptide is asking fans to vote on what they would like to see if a collector’s edition was built.

In true Deep Silver fashion, voters can choose how they feel about such illustrious item as branded pillowcases(?), figures, postcards, stickers and more by clicking on appropriate levels on interest. Five bubbles of excitement are available for clicking – NO, GTFO!! all the way to OMFG YES!! will help the publisher see what you might want in a Riptide CE. No guarantee they’ll do it but it’s nice to feel like we have some say so.

Go take the survey here. Don’t be afraid to go all OMFG on it, I did a couple of times. Many thanks to Deep Silver for including the fans in a decision or two. Maybe it’ll convince them to do a Collector’s Edition proper.

Black Ops II drops a massive Care Package for collectors to spend massive cash on! [VIDEO]

The unveiling of the Call of Duty: Black Ops II MEGASUPERGIGANTISIZED Care Package Collector’s Edition might force die-hard fans to pick up a couple extra jobs before November. Clocking in at a whopping $179.99 (!), the Care Package Edition is a fanboy’s wet dream filled with enough goodies to keep gamers drooling until the inevitable sequel hits shelves.

The centerpiece of the collection is the full functional MQ-27 Dragonfire Drone. Fully functionahl but not life-sized folks. It comes with a remote control so geeks can zip past enemy cats, spy on sunbathing neighbors and cause general nuisance. Much better than the RC-XD from the Black Ops Prestige version, right?

Besides the Drone, the Care Package comes along with a double dose of Avatar add-ons (Xbox 360) or Dynamic Themes (PS3), the Nuketown 2025 and Nuketown Zombies maps, the soundtrack with the Trent Reznor powered theme, a multiplayer weapon camo skin, two player card backgrounds, Limited Edition Challenge Coins and a slick looking double-sided steelbook case. All that will be packed inside an actual care package case! Holy crazy collector’s editions!
