In case you missed the Superbowl trailers! [VIDEO]

I don’t know about the rest of you geeks but I watch the Superbowl for the ads and especially the trailers. Last night’s big game had three movie teasing trailers for the action junkie, the comic nerd and the sci-fi fan. We got to see the Star Trek: Into Darkness, the Iron Man 3 tease ( which you had to go inline to see the full bit) and the Fast and Furious 6 trailers.
All were pretty exciting but you gotta give it up for Robert Downey Jr.’s little joke at the beginning of the extended look online. Fast 6 is going to take the cake though for introducing a new vehicle in the stable of vehicular weapons – a frakking tank! All three trailers have me giddy for the summer movie season. Don’t delay, hit the break and peep all three trailers!

Here’s the second Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol trailer! [VIDEO]

For Ethan Hunt and crew’s fourth outing into the danger filled spy world, they have no help, no backup, nothing. IMF is gone, ghosted by some schmuck in the White House. The four remaining agents are left to figure out what happened and why they were set up, which is pretty much the main plot behind any decent spy thriller. The action in this one is looking to be bigger and louder than in MI 3 with Cruise hopping around like the whole world is Oprah’s couch.
Comic book fans of course know Jeremy Renner is in here as well, building up to his true debut as Hawkeye in The Avengers next May. Simon Pegg, Shaun of the Dead and Star Trek, is along for the ride once more with Ving Rhames even showing his Luther Stickell face. Really, what more do you need to know? Watch the video! Ghost Protocol is hitting theaters this December so be prepared.
What’s Holding Up Star Trek 2??

So J.J. Abrams has successfully recreated a historic franchise and everyone expected Star Trek 2 to become a fast track for a studio that would love to earn more revenue to the bottom line, right? Wrong.
It seems that the successful remake of Star Trek, which had rave reviews from fans and critics alike, has been shelved temporarily. The reason is that prior commitments have been made. Abrams was working on Super 8, and writers for the movie were busy with other projects. The writers: Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, and Damon Lindelof; have confirmed that so far there is only a 70 page outline that has yet to be approved. It is also still up in the air as to whether Abrams will confirm that he wants to direct another Star Trek movie.
