Sanctuary not returning for fifth season, Syfy to drown a sackful of kittens next?
Last Updated on Wednesday, 30 May 2012 03:21 Written by LoganDX Wednesday, 30 May 2012 03:21
The awesome sauce that is was Sanctuary is no more! Syfy last week confirmed that the series ended its run with the already wrapped season four. What started out as a web series stormed the hearts of monster loving geeks ’round the globe and now, now what do we have? Nothing like it, that’s for sure! There’s not a show like it out there, one that combined tech, drama, monsters (Abnormals) plus reimagined classic stories and history to deliver a kick ass series. Nothing! The parting shot from Syfy was delivered in this quote from Mark Stern, president of original content:
“We’re honored to have been part of this incredible series. In addition to garnering unmatched devotion by fans worldwide, Sanctuary was a bona fide trailblazer, setting new standards with its highly innovative production techniques – including pioneering green screen and RED camera technology – and Emmy-nominated visual effects…It’s been an amazing ride and we look forward to our next project with Amanda Tapping, Martin Wood and Damian Kindler”
It’s bad enough Syfy killed Ashley in season 2 but now nuking everything? What’s next, grabbing Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny and The Tooth Fairy and decapitating them in front of a third grade assembly? We geeks are not even close to being enthused, totally angered and pretty disgusted right now is a more apt feeling. It’s bad enough some of the geekiest shows are being blitzed for schlock like “So You Think You Can Drink?” “Grannies Gone Gonzo” and blechh - “Survivor”, do we really need another hit to our TV watching? It’s true, the good do die young.
Step away from those fluffy kitties Syfy!

SyFy Kicking the Bucket on Eureka Season 6?
Last Updated on Tuesday, 30 August 2011 12:51 Written by Nick McD Tuesday, 9 August 2011 02:30
The Syfy Channel may be breaking the hearts of devotees with the their sudden announcement: Eureka is cancelled. Even the 6-episode 6th season finale has been put to the side per the decision by the Syfy production, meaning that the 5th season’s completion will complete the program.
There is hope with the upcoming episodes that the show will be wrapped up neatly to properly end the series, and won’t leave fans with a plot that never completed like many cancelled programs often do. With many new episodes yet to be aired, you can expect that there is enough time to properly build what may be another great season before the program ends. Read on…
