T’Challa Meets Black Jeopardy & Saturday Night Live Is Funny Again!

Saturday Night Live has not been that funny for me for quite a long time. I think the last time I laughed out loud at a sketch was… possibly sometime in the ’90s? However, the latest episode of Saturday Night Live gave me deep belly laughs as tears fell down my checks. I’m sure I got a great ab workout in.

This past weekend’s Saturday Night Live featured Chadwick Boseman, who plays T’Challa in the amazing movie known as Black Panther. If you haven’t seen it, turn off your computer and go right now. Black Panther is not only the highest grossing superhero movie of all time, it also ranks 10th worldwide in highest grossing movies. Black Panther continues to grow in popularity even months after the premiere date.

It was awesome to see Chadwick on Saturday Night Live. In his opening sketch, he seemed very comfortable and even showed off a few of his dance moves to an adoring audience. Hands down, I’d say the most hilarious sketch of the night was Black Jeopardy.

Black Jeopardy, a spin-off from the Celebrity Jeopardy sketch, has been done by Saturday Night Live a few times. Hosted by “Darnell Hayes” (played by Keenan Thompson, oh how I loved Keenan and Kel), the ongoing joke is that there is always a contestant who is a little out of place.

This time, it’s with T’Challa, who hails from Wakanda and, as the sketch progresses, is a little out of touch with the black experience in America. He answers each question as T’Challa would if he were actually on the show

If you missed it, you can check out the full episode on Hulu, or take the time to look at the clip on YouTube below. It’ll leave your sides in stitches.
