Many fans of Terry Pratchett were devastated when news of his death gripped the world in March of 2015. We were afraid we would never see anything new from our beloved author. Until we received news about “The Long Cosmos” the conclusion of the Internationally Best Selling Series “The Long Earth” which he co-wrote with Stephen Baxter! Coming June 14th, 2016 we’re receiving one final new book written by Pratchett!
We find out that Joshua Valienté is in his late sixties and taking one last final journey. In speculation we might assume that the end of Joshua’s tale will in fact showcase Death from Pratchett’s Discworld series with the quote of Death from Terry Pratchett’s last tweet, tweaked a little to fit the character.
“At Last, Joshua Valienté, we must walk together.” –Death
Then again, Joshua might still end up dying at the end of this series and give way to helping people cope with death. By learning that even though someone you love or idolize is dead, they will still live on, either in your memories or in what he has done. Again, this is all just speculation.
Along with this last gem of Terry Pratchett, we are also getting another Graphic Novelization of Discworld titled “Small Gods” set for release on August 23rd, 2016. We can only hope there will be more Discworld Movies or Cartoons as they were hilarious and featured Death as not something to be feared, but as a skeleton wishing to be a human. At times even doing something as human as getting drunk.
We can also hope they will turn “The Long Earth” Series into either a Movie or a Mini-Series. As that would be fantastic! Let us know in the comments below what you would want to see from Terry Pratchett and how you think this series will end.
